Reloading a save in this engine doesn't always reset every flag in memory. You have to quit to main menu or even completely restart the game to do a 'full' reload. It happens in Fallout 4 as well, if you trigger a mine after quicksaving, and then quickload, the mine won't be there even though you 'never' detonated it.

Can confirm that this also applies to cheats. Say you cheat in a stealth boy into the vault in dead money then restart the game, you still get the achievement tied to escaping the vault

I would just like to point out that since you were doing a companion run, charisma actually would have been beneficial since it improves companion nerve, so maxing out charisma would have boosted their damage by 45%. However, since you were doing the "worst" companion, I suppose it makes sense you didn't go this route.

If we're suggesting C&C challenges, I'll still shill for the C&C 3 Tiberium Wars (or Kane's Wrath) infantry-only run (Hard difficulty; can only produce infantry, structures from the home tab, and things mandated by primary mission objectives; can't use support powers that summon player-controlled non-infantry units or base defenses; using units you're given is fine). It's possible in the three campaigns in the base game and the fourth one in Kane's Wrath campaign, and it's fun, but you have not known true pain until you've witnessed your army take casualties assaulting an inanimate, unarmed wall because some of your flamethrower-toting badasses took a whiff of the hallucinogenic grenades your militiamen were throwing.

Yes, actually the worst companion is the one who can shot you in spine and instakill. Once I've got fatman for Arcade just for a joke and had a trip nearby Goodsprings graves. Btw, I know I am 2 years late to this video, and I know there is a sequel, but it occured to me just now that for the funniest outcome of this challenge, you needed Charisma set at 10. Since Charisma has one particular use - it boosts companion's damage by 5% for every Charisma point, up to 50%. Which means that with Charisma 10, Shadow Davey is 50% better at killing everyone (you included) in it's vicinity.
