The GF memory thing wouldn't have been so jarring if we saw examples of it before the big reveal. Like we meet a student forgetting classes cause of it or forgetting who their classmates are. The only hint of such a draw back is hidden in the classroom terminal.

Finding out the quicker way to "solving" the balamb sequence (run back and forth through a loading zone like two dozen times), I'll never go back. I might love this game, but I cannot suffer finding that fish cooking jagoff

I'd like to pass on a tip I found with ff8 to get early dark matters on ps4: When you get Edea in the party, just after crossing the bridge, you can force spawn Marlboro then by using the immortal mode button squeeze in a lvl up on it before it attacks to get it to 100 (the first few fights it won't drop the dark matter, but after a few Edea lvl ups it will) and use Mad Rush on Edea. For some reason it bumps the RNG along for the item drop, I just found it by chance because I wanted to grind Edea but didn't have auto-battle on ps4 so Mad Rush looked like a good substitute. It works with any monsters for the rare drops as far as I can tell, but this means Quistis can get her max limit break at the start of disc 3. Have fun playing!

I'm playing ffviii for the first time and I am baffeld about why Squall suddenly gave a crap about Rinoa not waking up. I mean yeah they're kinda friends I suppose but all the "I need to hear your laugh again" or whatever seems out of nowhere.

Frankly, this bit always felt more out of place than the basketball court scene ever did because at least that had some amount of foreshadowing that people missed. Maybe if there was like one more scene between them where Squall admits to himself that he actually likes her.

I honestly love the story in ffviii but its just so badly told once you get into the Lore and Laguna the sorceresses its honestly pretty interesting but they just squandered it all
