Those berries you picked up stop that bird boss from healing and do a chunk of damage. They were a special item to help with the fight. They actually talk about them in the dialogue and how they poison the boss.

They also work on the Phoenix boss later on. You can take a chunk of hp from the bird when the hunt spawns it.

Vaan is definitely here to be a sort of grounding presence for Ashe and Basch and show them how this war and conflict is affecting regular people in their kingdom. He's the regular citizen that they're fighting to protect and it's important for them to see how their actions affect the people they are sworn to protect. Penelo serves this same role but for Larsa. She spends time with him and through talking shows him how the archadian war and invasion is ruining lives of people in Dalmasca. She was supposed to have more scenes but then she was a tragedy of cut scenes when development went through hell and the director left the company part way through. Fortunately, Penelo and Vaan get more development in Revenant Wings but unfortunately it's a DS game. I'm not sure how far you've gotten now but you are probably gonna want to do some backtracking for spells and technicks that are found in random chests around the world as opposed to shops. There are simple guides to follow online. On the subject of gambits, the battle designer said that they purposely left out certain gambits like the steal until item is stolen gambit because they didn't want players to play too automated which is stupid. They purposely left out features because they wanted players to still have to do things. The optional demon wall battle is really simple if you use a Reflectga more on the party and have your mages bounce Aero off the party and he goes down in ~4 rotations.

It's always funny seeing dev logic go one step forward, two steps back. Basically they went, "We built the Gambit system so things could be automated, the battle-menu system borrowed from FFXI is clunky and so this Gambit system should help alleviate those problems," and then turned around and made the Gambits themselves an annoying progression-locked money sink. Like how much better would it have been to have Gambits available from the start? Maybe ease people into it by allowing for tiers, but by this point in the game at the most, there's no reason why all Gambits shouldn't be unlocked. 🙄

Not sure if anyone has said this in this video yet but for those who will take on the Demon Walls you can actually run up to the torches and interact with them to turn them off one at a time which will halt their movement for a shoet period of time

This is hands down my fave FF battle system, so i might geek out and give tips on vids. Magic is pretty prevalent and there are a lot of different factors that play into the amount of damage it can do. Mist is one, but there are many different damage amplifiers the game DOESN'T tell you about that increase certain elemental damage spells. The simplest and most easily accessible are your black mage staves. Cherry Staff = 50% more potent Wind damage Flame = 50% fire etc. (some staves later give multiple elemental boosts!) Also keep in mind your mage's passives, like Serenity. 30% more damage when HP full. It's super fun to try and play around HP values to maximize your magical damage in this game. Much love ♥

A quick tip, if you gambit in “foe weak to(element)” it will automatically attack with the element the enemy is weak against even if the enemy is immune to Libra. Example: (target) Foe weak to fire (action) Firaga

So Demon Wall 1. There's a very interesting strategy you can do, that I'm sure didn't even cross your mind. You clearly picked up the two Reflectga motes on the Leviathan -- well what you do is use it right before the fight, then set your gambits to case Aero on yourself. All four hits of it will be reflected back onto Demon Wall -- i.e. you'll do 4x damage per aero AND render Blind not an issue for two of the characters. But nice to see you brute forced it anyway, heh. Also as far as Summons go, they are a lot better in this version, as you can control them and they are just flat out more powerful (and IMO a better use of mist bar than Quickening and it's random stupidness).

This but you can find the Reflect spell somewhere in either of the Sandseas for your Time Battlemage, no motes needed for this specific challenge run. The cheese party here is Balthier, Basch (Red Battlemage) and Fran (Black mage). Just single target cast reflect on the entire party before the fight and use this strategy.

Eksir berry is actually used for the bird boss in the tomb entrance, and the bird itself is actually weak to dark element, while your basch can easily spam it, and the berry is actually dark element. But it's not late to tell you there's another hidden sidequest that involves chaining tons of Urutan Yensas on specific zone and get on one of the stranded ship(?) To fight the queen and getting a reward for avenging the mourning moogle right?

What I did to defeat the first demon wall: 1. Cast Reflect buff on each member of the party before entering the fight. 2. The Black Mage is equipped with Cherry Staff (boost Aero spells). 3. Red Mage and Black Mage will cast Aero spell on members with Reflect Status. Don't worry about healing because Aero's spamming hits will quickly bring down the demon wall. The boss will try to counter this tactic by using Telega, sending a character to X-Zone, which will make them unavailable for the duration of the fight.

Enjoy turn Zodiac age back into international Zodiac Job System version basically. Since they only wanted you used 1 job. Don't know if you know but Each of the 13 Esper are Associated with Zodiac Sign Belias the Gigas is Aries. The 13th Zodiark is tied With Ophicus which is Constellation meet all criteria be Zodiac but was left out some astrology people reconize some dont. Due this factor Anime and game use Zodiac like play as the Secret ,lost, or Forbidden Zodiac angle. It was officially reconize by Nasa as Zodiac in want say 2020.

Good vidéo, that's a nice format. If you're intrested in FFXII you could try other challenges after this one, like an all magic or phisical run. Though some characters might be irrelevent. And yea, black magic is op in this game, considering all of the game's options for extra damage. Pro tip : Spears and poles can attack air without telekinesis.

Demon Wall is best taken out with magic. Reflect everyone then cast Aero on yourself for quadruple the damage per cast as it bounces back.

For the first demon wall- Reflect all of your party members before triggering the fight, have your Black and Red Mages use Aero on the party. Each party member will reflect it onto the wall meaning eight Aero hits per turn (2 mages x 4 characters with reflect). As long as you have healing magic gambits disabled, you'll melt it in no time.

OH, by the way, if I remember correctly, the seeds that you get from the Urutan queen can be thrown at the bird boss before the temple, as you do so, he actually comes down and you can hit him with swords and shit. My guess is that in OG FFXII you didn't have that many long range weapons or spells (apart from Balthier) and therefore it could've been quite obnoxious as a boss, although I think that most people just bulldozed through him regardless.

The easier of the Two Demon walls you activate thing at torch. Now some will speed up and some slow it down and yes stop it. Hard Demon wall is just Dps within time span and tatics increase dps. Either way manage beat both.

You might already have Regen after this vid, but I think you can still leverage that staff if you kept something like Ally: Status = Poison/Sap, or Ally: Health < 30% at the bottom of the list, so it's the last thing Vaan does and it's only applicable when it's necessary. IIRC you can inflict weapon statuses through reflect too.

big tip for bosses. Decoy always works so... yeah. Also, get the gambits Highest and Lowest MAX HP. That helps you crowd control much better. Basically there are bosses with infinite small enemies you want to either ignore or take out with AOE's targeted at the boss, so you use Highest Max HP to focus. There are also bosses where you want to or HAVE to take out the small enemies to even have a chance (or because the boss is untouchable until you do so) so using Lowest Max HP will have your party always switch to the newly spawned small fry. It helps a lot when you need to speed things up!! As to which is which, I think you will be able to handle that! Good luck!!

all the different Weapon Types have a different scaling. for an example: Swords scale with Strength+ enemy defence, Maces scale with Magic+enemy defence, Poles scale with strength but use the enemy Magic Defence for damage calculation. Reducing the enemys defence doesnt increase the damage from pole weapons.
