On the subject of Vampirism: In Morrowind and Oblivion you may contract Porphyric Hemophilia, which is not the original vampiric strain created by Molag Bal's rape of Lamae (and neither is Skyrim's "Sanguinare Vampiris"). The original strain is known as Noxiphilic Sanguivoria. One notable difference is that Lamae's bloodline is not vulnerable to sunlight, unlike other iterations of the disease. So the likely reason why Molag Bal can't cure Porphyric Hemophilia is because he didn't directly create it himself.
@flamingcowjuice49186 ай бұрын
From what i know all subsequent strains were made in a similar way so all forms of vampirism come from molag bal Vermina is just the only being that can seemingly cure vampirism (don't know why but that seems to be the case)
@mateokirstine97824 ай бұрын
Yeah didn’t the strain in oblivion come from a vampire making a deal with Clavicus Vile? It stands to reason that other forces can tamper with vampirism if that’s true.
@Keebrev3 ай бұрын
@@mateokirstine9782 that’s right. Porphyria hemophilia is Clavicus Vile’s “strain” of vampirism. There’s ample evidence to suggest basically all daedric princes can create their own forms
@charliesage7004Ай бұрын
No, that's because molag bal creating vampires is a later retcon (thanks, Todd) that directly contradicts previously established lore. Vampires in Morrowind are tied to Vaermina, and dunmer associating vampires with molag bal was meant to be a peculiarity of Vvardenfel folklore. Lore and world building took a steep nosedive after Morrowind 😔.

34:16 The real answer is, in the Morrowind iteration of the lore, Vampires are connected to Vaermina and explicitly NOT Molag Bal: - Molag Bal himself says that he got the cure from Vaermina - Derar Hlervu, a servant of Molag Bal, says that "Molag Bal has dealt before with the dark walkers, though they are not of his making". - In Morrowind, Molag Bal is known as the father of vampires, but the Vampires of Vvardenfell vol.II says that "This account of the origin of vampirism is peculiar to Morrowind, appearing nowhere else in Imperial lore." - In the book "A Game at Dinner", an unknown person writing to Dhaunayne Aundae swears by "Vaernima the Gifter". The lore directly tying Molag Bal to vampires is a latter retcon from Oblivion on.

And ESO later goes "Actually any of em can make vampires most of em just have different properties" wherein the qualities that define it effectively slot Werewolves into being Hircine's version
@salty_maple_syrup8 ай бұрын
34:27 I love this mini tangent actually because it was addressed a couple years ago by ESO in one of their in-character Q&A's. Academically, the most general definition of a vampire is a mortal infused with a specific type of daedric essence which acts as a bridge or vector between their soul and the Prince from whom the essence originates. Under this definition, werewolves are technically just Hircine's vampires. As for Aedric vampires? I mean, Argonians are right there. Anything is an Argonian if it is sufficiently Hist. And failing that, the Dragonborn technically meet this criteria as well.

@frog14052 ай бұрын

1:07:30 The werewolves being Argonian Acrobats is because they both start with A. That means they default to being the first selections at the top of the Race and Class lists when you make a new NPC in the Construction Set. They simply didn't bother changing the default result, an Argonian Acrobat, because you'd normally only ever see them in werewolf form anyway. All of the 'generic' werewolves during the main quest are like this, while only the 'wandering' werewolves/lunatics get different looks.

Im ngl idk bout others but personally i wouldnt mind some QoL mods such as enemy health bars being visible if they dont explode your setup or crash the game Genuinely making the game more accessible especially to us that havent ever played wouldn’t be too bad If not tho, thats ok too, great vid so far 11:32, and that ad read was funny and interesting, best manscape ad read by a mile

I'd love to use a mod that does that, but I haven't been able to find one.

Just finished re-listening to most of your morrowind videos while working wanting more to listen to, my wishes have been answered !
I have been going thru a lot. Your videos are calm, peaceful, and innocent. They help my spirit be at ease and my mind calm. Thank you.

Its so funny to me that manscaped did a sponsorship with a guy that literally has no hair You get that bag bro

The bat belt that every player assembles eventually in this game is always great. Morrowinds best feature most inexcusable removal in the later games.

Casually doing jumping jacks amidst the dangers of the Clockwork City is peak Morrowind experience.

As always, this was a really entertaining watch and made an hour go by in a flash. Just wanted to say you got me to give Morrowind a go again after initially bouncing off it years ago. Made an imperial knight, then got annoyed at being so slow in heavy armor, and after that I made an orc barbarian born under the steed so now it actually feels like I can run.

Heck yeah, tower sign baby! Double the max distance. Damage rings are smoked too, this is actually a run I frequently do, usually take mercantile. Can't wait to see where this video goes.

I know the “errata video” thing was probably a joke but I’d honestly love to see something like that from you. Not because I like watching your mistakes or anything but because I like correct information.

Only half-joking, honestly.

I liked how you floated down to the guard to begin the run. Cool detail, love the video.

Always appreciate your videos. As a lore loving old man, you are one of my favorite KZbinr's. Thanks for making content for US and not for all. Mad respect.

Of all the things I expected to see when I clicked this, an insert for manscaped was not one of them. Thanks, narratively spurious clone!

From what I heard in the past about the spiral towers going up left; That's because most knights were right handed making it harder for them to attack up.

Glad I found your channel! Your knowledge definitely surpases mine on Morrowind, but I've been playing (and replaying) this game for the last 20 years of my life at least. Cheers!! 😁

@Just Background Noise I love your challenges bro! I played morrowind for the first time when I was 6 on original Xbox, before they released the dlcs for solsthiem and tribunal, I bought a physical copy of it when it came out and I was blown away by the added health bar to enemies. Major major major qol improvement!

Oh hell yeah another Morrowind vid! Aint gonna lie that is top tier content. Btw that alopecia makes it so easy for you to rock that futuristic Harkonnen look that is quite badass.

Your content is superb as always. You ought to watch out for that spurious clone though, lest you be replaced like Jagar Tharn did Uriel the VII:th.
