I don't miss 2020 Jrose
Edited by: ‪@SimplyAJ‬
Original Music by: Shelby Leon Wright
Complete Playlist: • Kanto Solo Challenges
Rules and Explanations
Rules: (1) Only use the one Pokémon in Battle, others for HMs are fine. (2) No Items in battle (3) No Glitches* (4) Set Mode (5) No saving in the Elite Four (6) No evasion moves
Badge Boost "Glitch" Explanation: When you collect odd numbered badges the game boosts a stat by 12.5%. Brock gives ATK, Surge DEF, Koga SPE, and Blaine SPC (in game text is wrong). When any of your stats are modified (even by you using a move like Withdraw, or your opponent using Leer) the badge boosts are re-applied. So If you use Swords Dance, you also gain *an additional 12.5% in Speed/Defence/Special (on top of the 12.5% you were supposed to be getting). When you level up, the game corrects this error, and only the non-glitch 12.5% remains. Because of how difficult it is to avoid, I've allowed for it to be exploited, since opponents will spam Leer/Growl anyways, and this way battles are less random. Red/Blue are extremely buggy, so there's always going to be some glitches present, and because of how unavoidable this one is, it is allowed in runs, and considered more like a special Generation 1 mechanic as opposed to a glitch.

I have noticed the long pause and that your later runs don't even talk about attempting minimum battles anymore. It's interesting to finally understand, your mindset held you back. You improved so much, I am kind of jealous. I've done a handful of these solo runs myself and I always keep having to look up where to go and where to find hidden items. Will you maybe do a routing and item guide for these? I think that would be very interesting. Rare candies, Elixers, PP Up, good tm moves, nuggets, everything.

@Xpwnxage
@Xpwnxage Жыл бұрын
The minimal battles thing is actually really cool and I look forward if he does it in gen4. But yeah I'm glad he's abandoned that line of thinking in solo runs. His minimum battles videos actually inspired me to do a minimum battles run in Final Fantasy Tactics, which by the way is really hard. You can take no optional battles for grinding which is an important component for a normal run. You can technically abuse the last enemy in any battle to level up as much as you want but I banned that for my run. Never completed it by the way lol.
@Ultimaximus
@Ultimaximus Жыл бұрын
@@Xpwnxage Minimum battles was a great metric for comparing the best pokemon, but he's already done most of them now, and sometimes a Pokemon's performance will be hurt in attempting minimum battles when they would've been better off just going fast with some extra battles.

I like to picture AJ as the disembodied voice in Jrose’s head doing this narrations. Love the editing!

Omanyte has been my favorite Pokemon since 1996. This video really made me smile today, when I was feeling down. Thank you!

Jrose I had to finally comment ive been watching your series for God it feels like the beginning and every single time it's such a joy to see the Stadium 2 Gameboy Tower. I literally spent my entire childhood in that thing. Red and Blue opened up a whole new world at 3 times speed. anyway the moments you slow down the gameplay so you dont fall off and edge is SO nostalgic I had to come and comment. It made my day! Love your content dude it's an amazing idea for a YT channel.

omg sorry for gushing I mostly just feel like boosting your analytics but my wife and I have been so obsessed with your series. I stg dude we are soul siblings. I can just tell by the way you talk about this game you were just like me. obsessed with this power of playing these games at a fast speed, cutting the time and letting me answer all my questions my mysterious monster ball game posed. This run is full of so much pain and suffering lmfao. coming back to red and blue in my 30s really has put a light on just how beautiful (and broken) kanto is. we HAD the peak childhood brother. GF's esthetic in gen 1/2 is unmatched and I ADORE gen 5. this series... I just can't even imagine if the AI had a single ounce of intelligence. brutal. gen 1 comp taught me early on that this game is marvelous bullshit. love this daily content month dude you are amazing. bless you!
