I’ve had this monitor for 4 years now. I can’t move to anything smaller. I’m planning to go oled and the only current option I have is the Alienware 34 and the Samsung 34. I can’t justify going down to 34 from 49, mostly because I use this for work and games. So, I’ll wait for the new 49 oled from Samsung, check the price and check the reviewe. Hopefully it works out😊

I actually just ordered a Vivo powered L-shaped desk and 2 of their under desk keyboards, on the way. When I was on their site looking I saw the monitor holder you have and wondered how well it worked. All of their products get high reviews. so, my dad goes on the used market to try flipping items, in which there are times i go in the backyard and notice a few things that he could sell for a couple hundred bucks, a few days ago i walked into the backyard and i saw a big box from Samsung, turns out it's this monitor. his plan was to buy the stand, and sell it, but if i manage to get a good score on the SAT, my current ultrawide is going to get upgraded to this. *will update on if i get a high score or not* 3/10/24 update: i wasn't able to take the SAT, because for some reason, collegeboard doesn't take electronic IDs, and my school doesn't produce physical ones anymore although... i managed to get into the college my dad wants me to go into, which now means i own the monitor now.

Love the set up. Currently Im using a Macbook Pro i7 may change to the Mac mini M2 Pro. Using 2 screens- the laptop 15in and an LG 34in Ultrawide in 1080P. If I get a 49inch Ultrawide I wont be missing my second screen as much. Amy even be able to still use the 34inch in some way, who knows. The Samsung looks great. Did you check out LG as well? You did say you went Samsung since most of your appliances are that brand.

At the prescribed distance for whatever scaling your are using, it’s quite pleasant for me. The only problem is for people who work with cad programs that do graphs and charts but then they usually get used to it from what I’m told. I had the same question at first.

Mirroring usually requires some sort of extra hardware or Bluetooth connectivity which monitors like this don’t have but if you have a video cord into hdmi from a laptop or phone the yes, the worlds your oyster.

Hello I just saw this and its an amazing overview, quick question is your top monitor not the curved one a seperate video card or have you split screens or extended monitor on your pc hope that makes sense trying to get an understanding. Second do you know if you can split screen this with a mac on half and a windows notebook on the other? How easy is it to switch the whole screen to windows notebook if youre on split screen mode as above question or vice a versa. DO you have to turn 1 off or unplug for the other to take over the whole screen again? thank you for taking the time.

Good day. The upper tv is just coming from the video card as an external monitor. As for the the monitor, you run any two inputs and can easily just toggle which mode or source via the joystick menu system on the minitor itself. I hope this helps and have a good week.

I've been researching for about 1 month now trying to make a decision on what UltraWide Screen Monitor best fits me needs for video editing and was actually looking to purchase the LG 49WQ95C-W until I came across this video. Now I'm torn and was wondering if you had an opinion on the LG monitor vs the one you have? Also what do you used the TV above for and how is it connected to your setup. I have a 50" Vizio QLED mounted above my setup as an idea for clients to see video as a playback. I haven't connected it to my system yet as I just built my office and currently still running my 27" iMac. I'll be upgrading to the Mac Mini M2 Pro in about 2 months. So I'm just still piecing everything together.

I don't know much about the LG but this minitor is still performing as the day I bought it and I love it. I do the same thing you do as showing what rendered video looks like on a TV to make sure my colors aren't all over the place. I sometimes game on the above tv from my couch also but it's mainly used in my studio for sheer entertainment. It's eye opening to see video from the computer dragged onto the above screen to see a finalized project. Congrats on your new studio.

I recently picked up this monitor; however, the colors look washed out on my Dell G7 laptop and Macbook M1 Pro. I had read that a better USB-c to display port cable would fix the issue. I wanted to know whether you had a similar problem and, if so, how you resolved it.

Check your display settings. Had to set mine up with 10bit color and switch dynamic range to full in my settings. You do need DP connection for these settings to be available. Really rich color after that, I also turned local dimming off.

Does your monitor also make the screen super small when using 120hz? for some reason anything more than 60hz causes my windows to be super small

No. Mine stays the same but when rendering video at 60hz from my Adobe premiere or even playback, it jitters until I put the monitor also in 60 hz from the windows settings vs the 120hz that I thought would be make things run smoother. Aside of that, that’s the only downfall I’ve experienced.

Ok, in Atlanta from Florida now and tucked in. The desk is actually two different desks from Office Depot of the same manufacturer. I just used both desks as a base and bought a butcher block countertop from Home Depot. So as an 8ft surface, no cutting was necessary and this thing holds a lot of weight.

No not at all friend. At the proper prescribed viewing distance, I was fine. I have neck issues from prior injuries so looking left to right was my main long term issue. Hope this helps.
