I’ve seen this on Reddit so it’s not my original idea, but I think Cooper is gonna come out sometime soon and Oliver is gonna have to figure out what that means for him and for their relationship. Personally I think the topic of sexuality comes up so often surrounding these two there’s no way they’re both straight. Fairly sure that Cooper is gay and Oliver is bi/possibly ace.

i would really love for us to get gay representation in cooper (especially since angela has departed) and i think (hope) it's likely that will happen! since oliver has denied being gay before, i think it would be nice to have him be a bi character (although the possibility that he was in the closet/didn't know is possible) because we so rarely have bi characters on family sitcoms. i do think there is potential for one or both of them to be non-straight. a lot of fans complain about queer!cooper or oliver being unnecessary, but the reality is that this show has been getting away with making gay jokes about/implying a romance dynamic between the two for almost two seasons now, and not acknowledging it would seriously be a slap in the face to lgbt+ viewers and fans who have become invested in them BECAUSE of what the writers have suggested in the show. literally no one asked for cooliver to start getting romantic vibes, but they can't blame fans for picking up on it when it's been written into most episodes since the beginning of s4!

I think it’s a strange show where basically the whole cast finds it an open joke/secret that these guys are basically boyfriends, only they don’t realize it. It’s very funny, yes. But it’s also kind of strange. It’s almost as if we are being set up for something down the road. Actually, they probably would make a really good couple lol it’s also kind of refreshing that they actually have actors playing teenagers who are in fact teenagers. Some of these shows are so odd, having 28 or 30 year olds playing the teen kids

It so happened that I started watching this series only in December of this year 2024. I decided to start watching it because I saw edits and moments from Cooliver on KZbin.
