@@Tommy1marg Because there is no firearm you can say you can build for $1000 (or any price for that matter) when you don’t know how much ammunition you’ll need. It’s like saying that if you’re remodeling a kitchen, that you need to incorporate the price of food into it. Someone buying a new vehicle doesn’t include the cost of fuel into the purchase. Sure, for a first time gun owner, they need to understand that ammunition will need to be part of the investment. Accessories are too, although they can be added over time, if time isn’t a major factor. Ammo simply isn’t part of the cost of a build. A chest rig, night vision or body armor isn’t included in the price of a build. The rifle itself, and whatever accessories actually attach to the rifle are a part of the build. Ammo is like gas for a car, you don’t include it in the price of a car, as you expect to constantly have to replace gas or ammo. If you plan on shooting a lot, you couldn’t build any rifle for under $5k.

FYI: If you put the SW MP15 Upper on a Military FN Lower with an AUTOMATIC Setting and fired a couple of Magpul 60 Round Drum Magazines THRU IT the Upper in Automatic FIRE the Upper would have a MELTDOWN about half way thru the Second Drum because that Barrel, Handguard and Gas Tube will NOT TAKE the HEAT! There are MAJOR Differences between a Military M4/M16 and a Civilian AR-15 YES there are SOME AR15 that are BUILD to M4/M16 Standards of AUTOMATIC Fire but those are VERY FEW and they are NOT all COLT weapons FNH makes a Closer weapon since they use the SAME Barrel in both Lines. Just because something Looks Alike Does NOT Mean it will Perform the Same way! Let me give you an Example do you think that an Invicta Automatic Watch that retails for 200 dollars and Looks like a Rolex Submariner is Going to Performed the Same way as a 12,000 dollar Rolex? They both tell time but the Rolex can go down 200-300 meter Underwater without issues the Invicta might be able to go 150-200 meter a few times before the Seals FAIL! You are Correct any Weapon can be used for WAR but some are Weapons are Designed to be better and Last Longer.

Yes and no. S&W’s HQ is in Springfield, MA. I actually went to school with Seth Wesson as a kid. He’s about my age. They understand liberals being from the NE. What they did and how they marketed the M&P-15 was both smart and accurate. The M&P-15 really isn’t 100% milspec, doesn’t have a full auto sear or BCG. Also if you’re marketing it to sportsmen, that’s more palatable than marketing it to warmongers. That’s the trap you will fall into. My point is that words matter so you have to be careful in selecting them. An “M&P-15 Sport” (Sporter) is a term that conjures going to the range not conducting a war. Your “weapons of war” approach gives credence to the narrative that we as lawful gun owners are about war, not self defense and these lefty jackasses in the media are going to take advantage of the average American’s lack of acuity on your valid point about irregular militias being protected by the 2nd Amendment. Liberal Marxists want to stomp that point out by invalidating it. The same way they want to define who a journalist is, they want to control legal use of deadly force and who can use it by defining who exactly is a solider and can use it legally. Your approach will be used to facilitate this goal of theirs using the same tool they used so effectively last year, fear. Our right to defend ourselves, property and rights is encoded in the 2nd Amendment. The right to “make war” is less defensible and the average person isn’t going to support that narrative, so think about modifying it before it is too late please. That isn’t going to get traction. I hear you in that we should not be apologizing to the lefties and I don’t like them, what they are about and least of all what they are trying to do here... implement Marxism. An armed civilian populace is not encouraged in Marxist societies so you would be under their boot and under their hegemony. Bill Ruger understood this and kept the Mini-14 legal in most of the ban states in how it was designed and marketed as a civilian weapon, not a “weapon of war”. That’s called smart, not apologetic, We’d better fight a smart fight with brains and balls or we will lose. Marxists always want a monopoly on violence. Read the Manifesto and Rules for Radicals. Understand their game plan and you can get ahead of it.

Agreed 100% as protective gear is something you already have and can buy cheaply that is not that bad as you can use it for other stuff. I'm an avid hand project guy that does wood working and other stuff and have started using my electronic hearing pro that cost very little comparatively even during the pandemic for that upgrade for my other power tools and other lawn equipment and it works fantastic. As far as ammo I'd only include that in the initial build if you don't have any of that ammo type around however that is definitely an expendable that you don't include after the initial build.

@@dkinneydk1 You don't get the point of the video. Sure, you can stick extra mags in your back pocket, but it's not as secure and you are probably not going to be driving like that. The idea is the AR-15 as a defensive rifle, not a fudd plinker. There are accoutrements necessary to make an effective militiaman defending hearth and home from any tyranny (home invasion, natural disaster community security) and a rifle with any type of purpose built magazine holder on load bearing equipment is crucial if you need to have a rifle and keep it running when you need it.

So... The title is misleading. Yes you can get a AR-15 for less than 1000, you can even get a Iron sighted, slinged, lighted, 2 mags for less than 1000. The video keeps referring to a full kit and other shit. But yes, a baseline functioning AR can be bought for way less than a thousand. Noods, chest rids, bags and high-end optics are another story

@@5jjt just by shopping around you can find deals and sales for gear. My only gripe with this video is he keeps referring to kit and ammo plus a plethora of accessories.. he asks "can you get a rifle for $1,000, no...... Anyway here's an m&p sport for $680" like... There's one right in your hand dude, video over lmao. Now obviously you need sights and a mag to complete the rifle. That's it, he had the sling, a light and some other stuff which is all great and fine and dandy. That's not the point of the video, some people might not need a light because it's a range rifle, some people don't want to sling their rifle for whatever reason. It's all subjective to the mission you want. I have a complete $760 set up for the range and basic tomfoolery.. And I also have a $3200 set up with a pec-15, surefire can, Eotech hybrid systems and a bunch of other cool s*** that I want when I go LARPing in the woods. It's all just kinda subjective

It’s a small gun shop in central Florida, Frogbones Family Shooting Center. It’s a little mom and pop shop, but he have a full indoor rifle/pistol range, a fully stocked store and a sister company bar and grille attached to the same building. Being the store that we are, I love that I can do two things there; tell people when their wrong and let people hold guns, play with them, test them out (we have a full rental fleet of pistols, rifles and shotguns) and most importantly, dry fire it in store to let them feel triggers and such. I know at big box stores they hardly let you even touch it unless you’re buying it. I’ve played Airsoft for 15 years and that all translated directly into my job as far as tactics go, luckily enough my boss is impressed enough with my shooting to let me inboard into the training group to be an instructor. I have to do the song and dance and get NRA certs but it’s a necessary evil to do what I love. I’m no Lucas, but I like to think that my training is paying off

I like how you highlight Sport but just gloss over the M&P... you know the Military and Police part. That implies the weapon is for War, Defense or Sport, I.e. it will fit your needs/wants whatever they are. You wanna Plink or 3-Gun, you can do that. You need to legally defend yourself, it can do that too and if China invades and you need to attack then it can do that too. It likely isn't the best option for any of these but it'll do in a pinch.

Same I didn’t even know that “returning to zero” was something to be concerned about with budget optics or what that even meant. Like I see the Romeo didn’t return to zero after removing it so why not just re zero it or have three M&Ps to test the optics on so “return to zero” isn’t even a variable
