@@Tommy1marg Because there is no firearm you can say you can build for $1000 (or any price for that matter) when you don’t know how much ammunition you’ll need. It’s like saying that if you’re remodeling a kitchen, that you need to incorporate the price of food into it. Someone buying a new vehicle doesn’t include the cost of fuel into the purchase. Sure, for a first time gun owner, they need to understand that ammunition will need to be part of the investment. Accessories are too, although they can be added over time, if time isn’t a major factor. Ammo simply isn’t part of the cost of a build. A chest rig, night vision or body armor isn’t included in the price of a build. The rifle itself, and whatever accessories actually attach to the rifle are a part of the build. Ammo is like gas for a car, you don’t include it in the price of a car, as you expect to constantly have to replace gas or ammo. If you plan on shooting a lot, you couldn’t build any rifle for under $5k.

Yes and no. S&W’s HQ is in Springfield, MA. I actually went to school with Seth Wesson as a kid. He’s about my age. They understand liberals being from the NE. What they did and how they marketed the M&P-15 was both smart and accurate. The M&P-15 really isn’t 100% milspec, doesn’t have a full auto sear or BCG. Also if you’re marketing it to sportsmen, that’s more palatable than marketing it to warmongers. That’s the trap you will fall into. My point is that words matter so you have to be careful in selecting them. An “M&P-15 Sport” (Sporter) is a term that conjures going to the range not conducting a war. Your “weapons of war” approach gives credence to the narrative that we as lawful gun owners are about war, not self defense and these lefty jackasses in the media are going to take advantage of the average American’s lack of acuity on your valid point about irregular militias being protected by the 2nd Amendment. Liberal Marxists want to stomp that point out by invalidating it. The same way they want to define who a journalist is, they want to control legal use of deadly force and who can use it by defining who exactly is a solider and can use it legally. Your approach will be used to facilitate this goal of theirs using the same tool they used so effectively last year, fear. Our right to defend ourselves, property and rights is encoded in the 2nd Amendment. The right to “make war” is less defensible and the average person isn’t going to support that narrative, so think about modifying it before it is too late please. That isn’t going to get traction. I hear you in that we should not be apologizing to the lefties and I don’t like them, what they are about and least of all what they are trying to do here... implement Marxism. An armed civilian populace is not encouraged in Marxist societies so you would be under their boot and under their hegemony. Bill Ruger understood this and kept the Mini-14 legal in most of the ban states in how it was designed and marketed as a civilian weapon, not a “weapon of war”. That’s called smart, not apologetic, We’d better fight a smart fight with brains and balls or we will lose. Marxists always want a monopoly on violence. Read the Manifesto and Rules for Radicals. Understand their game plan and you can get ahead of it.

There are MAJOR Differences between a Military M4/M16 and a Civilian AR-15 YES there are SOME AR15 that are BUILD to M4/M16 Standards of AUTOMATIC Fire but those are VERY FEW and they are NOT all COLT weapons FNH makes a Closer weapon since they use the SAME Barrel in both Lines. Just because something Looks Alike Does NOT Mean it will Perform the Same way! Let me give you an Example do you think that an Invicta Automatic Watch that retails for 200 dollars and Looks like a Rolex Submariner is Going to Performed the Same way as a 12,000 dollar Rolex? They both tell time but the Rolex can go down 200-300 meter Underwater without issues the Invicta might be able to go 150-200 meter a few times before the Seals FAIL! Agreed 100% as protective gear is something you already have and can buy cheaply that is not that bad as you can use it for other stuff. I'm an avid hand project guy that does wood working and other stuff and have started using my electronic hearing pro that cost very little comparatively even during the pandemic for that upgrade for my other power tools and other lawn equipment and it works fantastic. As far as ammo I'd only include that in the initial build if you don't have any of that ammo type around however that is definitely an expendable that you don't include after the initial build.

There are accoutrements necessary to make an effective militiaman defending hearth and home from any tyranny (home invasion, natural disaster community security) and a rifle with any type of purpose built magazine holder on load bearing equipment is crucial if you need to have a rifle and keep it running when you need it.

Also, while you may be joking, you come off as a snob. Like pulling up in a Lexus and scoffing at somebody for putting Hakkapalitas on their Honda, you realize even some of the best shooters among us wouldn't be able to distinguish one make of upper/lower recievers from another if they contain quality components and are tuned and built correctly? It's not the arrow, it's the indian. Do you think having spent $2K-$3K on a rifle puts you ahead of me in terms of skill/experience, or a gunfight or on the range? I have an Aimpoint on a PSA build too, I'm guessing you would "shudder" and scoff at that too..... I don't play the keeping up with the jones' game, I spend money on ammo and quality components and try to be good enough to take advantage of the relatively small performance gains. I have higher end equipment since cutting my teeth on the M&P, but I don't need to flex my "superior" gear to make the point, on the range and in a gunfight, experience and skill are the most important factors, along with having reliable, quality equipment, which I have.

Or you can buy a build kit for the same price just better quality and assemble it yourself. You can build a hundred different rifle variations for $1,000 or less but when you're talking about all the attachments and thousand rounds of ammo and all of that that is not what you stated in the beginning of the video.

I got a Plametto State AR15 complete lower for $120 and a complete Bear Creek BC15 300 Blackout upper for $260. Including taxes, shipping and FFL processing costs I spent a grand total of about $500. Even if an M&P Sport II is a legit viable alternative. It'd be great if he would grow up a bit, but he's living high on the hog on his family's virtues. Look at Saint Kyle. That kid got it done with an M&P Sport. Probably didn't have a ton of training, really. Yup. He had a failure (I've had failures with FN and Colt in the heat of the moment), but he applied immediate action and pressed. Point? Heart and a decent amount of good training means much more than spending $$$ ever will. But, this is a concept that Captain McTightpants NEVER says (or will say), yet Mike Jones (GarandThumb) always pushes (nowadays, anyways).

I see plenty of ar’s at the ranges I frequent that are under $1,000 and ring steel at 400 yards all day long. This older gentleman built his back in 2015 for $400, has a scope on it and nails playing cards at 600 yards. I don’t know the cost of the scope but I doubt it’s over $600. If you need $1500-$3000 for an ar to be accurate and effective at 500 yards you need to become better with an ar.

Romeo5 is a great budget optic they are very durable and accurate for the price. If someone buys this for SHTF odds are they are going to leave it mounted and not play musical optics so returning to zero issue is a dumb Issue in my opinion. But I enjoyed the video keep up good work 👍🏻
@turich52303 жыл бұрын
Same I didn’t even know that “returning to zero” was something to be concerned about with budget optics or what that even meant. Like I see the Romeo didn’t return to zero after removing it so why not just re zero it or have three M&Ps to test the optics on so “return to zero” isn’t even a variable
@TREXARMS3 жыл бұрын
The problem is, a decent impact should shift the zero too. It has a weak mounting point and no recoil lug. Return to zero plays into "maintaining" zero.
@turich52303 жыл бұрын
@@TREXARMS ahhh okay I see. So what you were pointing out was the Romeo 5 not having that little notch or “recoil lug” in the middle of the base of the housing? Or the mounts that come with cheap aimpoint micro type optics are just not a viable option if you do choose to run a budget micro red dot?
@bricegreen96163 жыл бұрын
Well that’s why I say durable and accurate for the price. But I have 2 of these and have beat the crap out of them one stays under back seat of my truck I farm and shoot hogs regularly and have never had one off accuracy wise. @DaveSmith-cp5kj3 жыл бұрын
The manual safety really doesn't matter. There is a reason the manual safety has no mention in any of the gun safety rules, and why many guns such as glocks lack a manual safety. The only real purpose of the safety is to put down a loaded gun with reasonable protection of the trigger. The only real such case is when you sling up to climb ladders or otherwise have both hands occupied. The only real reason safety on and off is taught is to allow trainers to visually see who can adhere to basic instruction no matter how divided their attention is. If someone messes up the manual safety, you know they are at risk of breaking the safety rules that actually matter.
