It might work really well as a pontooon style boat if you build 2-3 more layers like a floating raft

You think you could make a bed mattress out of pool noodles?
@sam-beige Жыл бұрын
You definitely could, but I don’t think you’d want to 😂 They’re pretty rigid and don’t actually provide much cushion

cool but u should of made the shape of the boat in segments and kept them in the shape you want this way when you glue them there wont be as much tension on the glue which wont be as flexible as the pool noodles
@sam-beige2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I totally agree! I don’t know if I’ll ever attempt this again, but if I did I would probably build the frame first and ideally hold them in the final shape while gluing. I just didn’t necessarily have the proper tools for boat making haha
@DrTurtleBee Жыл бұрын
I would suggest a Heat gun to melt the pool noodles to each other. Hot glue is really bad at staying together in water.
@sam-beige Жыл бұрын
Yeah that's a good idea! There were a few spots where I got close enough to the noodles with the hot glue gun that the foam melted together, and those were probably the strongest areas
