I've actually done a bit of logging with a larger tool handed Milwaukee tool, that I carried into the bush with me at a stage. Go with the small engined Husky's I reckon, if one doesn't want to experience severe vibration effects. Yeah, a recip can do a lot more in green timber than you'd think. But that's the problem, it does work. Except when you understand over time why chains and bars exist (we'd not be able to open our fingers very quickly if we went into thd bush with carpentry tools). On that topic the 550 Husky has got power, it takes wider gauge chain as standard procedure. But the 550 transmits a fraction of vibration to one's hands compared to recip saws. Ditto with the Husky brush cutter implements. I run some other tools in strimmer tool category acquired recently, which frankly I don't think are as safe when considering vibration (but are more economical and sold to the occassional user at garden centers). The give-away with a cheaper strimmer, and with recip saws, even the best of them is the trigger vibration. Where you're compelled to keep an index finger on a trigger that transmits too much mechanical vibration. It's no good.

The point I'm making is that the T540, the 435 or 550 Husky and all associated chains, bars and all of that nano Oregon stuff. None of that became attractive to me though, until my curiosity was first raised by using a recip saw for green timber (and I realized quickly that green timber and recip saws were just too onerous to do, owing to the vibration of the tool). The trigger finger being the big weakness with them.

If you cut closer to the ground it's easter to push the tree if things go wrong or it leans back

I cut my leaning birch down with rec.saw... from 2m height but still... and it was over 30cm in diameter... I used special "japanese teeth" blade (curved blade like those little handsaws for branch cutting)... and it work very well....

Picked up a 20 inch Dolmar on Friday bloody good saw, if you think a Husqvarna is heavy "think again". Even so it's much easier to cut down a tree with that, than a battery powered Dewalt reciprocator. You do like a challenge bud, good for the crack though...
