Can you Daily Drive a Porsche Cayman 718 GT4?

My GT4 is manual with buckets. I'd never daily it, but it sure feels special when I take it out for a weekend. Comfort seats and auto transmission isn't very.. GT to me. In any case, enjoy your beautiful car!

A new front splitter is only $400, so scraping the front end isn't that big a deal. Just plan to replace the front splitter every now and then. :-)

There is an after market front axle lift kit available in California. Pricey though

I wanted to do it with our new 718 Spyder ( pick up next week) but too pricey with shipping, duty and exchange rate for Canada. Plus Loss of Porsche suspension warranty ( not too much of a big deal )

Re front axle lift . After googling, looks like there are a few more companies out there. If you find one that is reactively affordable ( under 10,000) please advise . You will want the full extension and weight limit one.

@@kevinreath I'll try to look around too but man most of the aftermarket ones are pretty pricey. It's kind of dumb that they wouldn't include an option for a lift on this car when it's so low.

I agree, having a front lift would have been nice. Perhaps Porsche was concerned with the added weight of the hydraulics. This car is not a daily, not due to stiffness, but mostly due to his low the front end is.

There is no option for factory front end lift on the gt4

I thought my Camaro SS 1LE was bad scraping. I have to drive like 0.5mph to get in and out of my parking garage. But DD'ing a GT4 is a good problem to have

hahah that's the best problem to have but yeah it's really really low to the ground. It barely clears my parking garage and most of the time I have to back out of driveways. Did you opt in for the comfort seats or the bucket seats on yours?

@@RichardCuico PCCB, bucket seats, manual, Miami Blue belts, standard interior, Bose, navigation, black handles, black GT4 badging. It was a dealer car and there weren't any more allocations there this year, and I knew they discontinued Miami Blue

It's not that low, check your suspension, the height is adjustable so maybe yours is on the lowest setting? It's higher than the 981 GT4 and a few other stock cars I've driven/owned. I daily my 718 GT4 without much of a problem, I approach sharp changes in gradients at an angle to avoid scraping but I don't have any issues with speedbumps etc.

@@MrZVDS the car came like this from the dealer and other GT4s they had in stock were a similar ride height too. It's a pretty low car in my opinion so maybe your area might be better suited for this car. This car in LA is pretty bad but my brother lives in Orange County and their roads a supercar friendly so he'll have no issues there.

there is no way this is a good daily driver, power is available on high rpms, meaning you will use only first two gears to get some power and no lift in front is a no go in most cities. this is great track car tho.
