Spent over three years studying 5 to 7 hours a day 7 days a week. Meditating day and night on Gods word. Rightly dividing the word of God a workman unashamed. Putting on the armour of God with the word of God. I would not call it work because I loved it . But the bible does say to repent and do your first WORKS. See above.

Will the number saved be few? Make every effort to enter the narrow gate, for few find it. It requires effort. You must keep your lamp burning and keep enough oil in your lamp. You must not blaspheme the Holy Spirit, which is not forgivable. You cannot trample the blood of Christ. What you have done to the least of these you have done to me. You must love after you are saved He who does not know love does not know God for God is love. Faith without works is dead. While I believe that no amount good works done before you are saved will save you. Once you are "being saved" there is a lot of effort required.

You did not just paraphrase a bit, you butchered the scripture that says we are save by grace through faith, you must first believe to receive the gift of salvation by grace. Romans 4:16 Therefore it is by faith that it might be by grace, to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed. Ephesians 1:13 In whom you also trusted, after that you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that you believed, you were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise.

“For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10‬:‭26‬-‭31‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Of course we can deny God - 2 Peter 2:1-3, “But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber.”

Please read: Isaiah 42:1, Matthew 24:24, Mark 13:22, Romans 8:33, 1 Peter 1:2, etc.! Dr. Sproul is CORRECT, for thus saith the Scripture! It is ALL of our Father God's Sovereign will ALONE, and regeneration comes FIRST so that we desire salvation!😊

The problem for the Calvinist is the sad fact their doctrine does not afford assurance they actually are "elected to be" saved. It's true in Calvinism that "IF" you are chosen by God "to be" saved you will receive their necessary "Gift of Perseverance" BUT THATA is not guaranteed to anyone particular individual. And it's impossible to know in this life if you have it....or will 'get it'. DR. Sproul didn't even know if he was saved for certain. Read this account from Dr. Sproul; and then John Calvin's own comments from his institutes below. Interesting but very sad story. In June of 2001, during his message at a Ligonier’s Conference in Orlando, Fla., the late Dr. R. C. Sproul indicated that Dr. James Boice, a scheduled speaker at the conference, was dying that very night. Then at the end of the message he asked all 5,000 present to pray that Jim "dies in faith". Dr. Boyce was considered a great pastor, theologian, teacher, and author, yet Sproul was not sure that he was regenerate. Dr. Boyce did die that night. They all hoped he persevered ... but they cannot know if that was God's "gift" to him or not. The real irony lies in their 'prayer' that Dr. Boyce would truly be saved. According to "U"conditional Election... God either loved him 'salvifically' or he hated him. just like Esau, and literally nothing could ever be done to change his eternal decree. And, if God hated him, why would they run the risk of 'loving' him?... They just don't know, and believe they cannot know, but most won't admit it, even to themselves. It is said that Dr. Sproul even wondered out loud near is own death if he had done 'enough'. Calvinists can have no real personal assurance, they're only hoping for the best, because they believe they're either 'picked' or they'll bust Hell wide open without a prayer.... literally. Desperate for 'evidence' of salvation, they cling to their 'works' as pieces of a broken shipwreck at sea, it's all they have. But their Christian efforts and current desires are no less a manifestation of God's decree than the faith they already doubt. 🤷🏻‍♂️Evanescent Grace hangs over their heads like the Sword of Damocles. John Calvin on Evanescent Grace quotes; “Experience shows that the reprobate are sometimes affected in a way so similar to the elect that even in their own judgment there is no difference between them. Hence, it is not strange, that by the Apostle a taste of heavenly gifts, and by Christ himself a temporary faith is ascribed to them. Not that they truly perceive the power of spiritual grace and the sure light of faith; but the Lord, the better to convict them, and leave them without excuse, instills into their minds such a sense of goodness as can be felt without the Spirit of adoption .... there is a great resemblance and affinity between the elect of God and those who are impressed for a time with a fading faith .... Still it is correctly said, that the reprobate believe God to be propitious to them, inasmuch as they accept the gift of reconciliation, though confusedly and without due discernment; not that they are partakers of the same faith or regeneration with the children of God; but because, under a covering of hypocrisy they seem to have a principle of faith in common with them. Nor do I even deny that God illumines their mind to this extent .... there is nothing inconsistent in this with the fact of his enlightening some with a present sense of grace, which afterwards proves evanescent.” (3.2.11, Institutes) And; “Yet sometimes he also causes those whom he illumines only for a time to partake of it; then he justly forsakes them on account of their ungratefulness and strikes them with even greater blindness.” (Institutes of Christian Religion, 3.24.8) And; “We cannot imagine any certainty that is not tinged with doubt, or any assurance that is not assailed by some anxiety. . . . Believers are in perpetual conflict with their own unbelief” (Calvin, Institutes, 3.2.18). Calvinism cannot avoid robbing a believer of any confidence they are truly loved, personally, by God. As your self, who would want a believer to doubt God's love for them?

Because of His great love for the world, God the Father chose to send His Son to the world so that anyone in it might receive life through believing in His name. Jesus the Son henceforth humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death on a cross, dying for the sins of that same entire world that God the Father so loved. Jesus then proceeded to conquer death through His resurrection, as the grave could not hold Him back. When He ascended to heaven 40 days after His resurrection, He sent the promise of the Father, the blessed Holy Spirit, to be received by any and all that would believe in this great good news of glad tidings. All those who believe in Christ are joined to Him and become one spirit with Him. Those who have been joined to Him in this manner throughout the ages are the elect of God in Christ. Jesus said to His disciples when some people stopped following Him after He spoke some hard sayings, “Will you go away also? And they said ‘Where else shall we go, thou hast the words of eternal life?’. Why would anyone deny the Savior who shed His blood for their ransom? By the grace of God, I hope I never know the answer to that question. ☦️🍞🍷

"I do not pray for the entire world, but only for those you have given me" ~ Jesus Christ ● John 17 : 9 - 23
@st.christopher1155
@st.christopher1155 Ай бұрын
@@lovealways2609 Proof texts out of context are not helpful. Nothing I said contradicts John 17:9-23. I never said that Jesus “prayed for the world” but I said Jesus died for the sins of the whole world, which He did. In addition, John 1:12 says that “as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name”. Furthermore, John 20:31 states that “these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.” In addition, when Jesus said in John 17:9, “I pray for them. I do not pray for the world, but for those whom you have given Me”, He was specifically distinguishing the disciples from everyone else. He even said, “Those whom you gave Me I have kept, and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled”. Further on in His prayer, He does pray for a much larger subset of the world (which I believe includes you and I) when He says, “I do not pray for these (disciples) alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word”. God is most assuredly sovereign, and He sovereignly chose to send Jesus to die for the sins of the world and has sovereignly chosen to save all who believe in His Son. ✝️🍞🍷

According to Calvin, the meaning of repent (Metanoia) = A change of mind totally is incorrect, what is the point of saying you need to change your mind which represents a free choice from unbelief to belief but according to point one of Calvinism total depravity that than nullifies what Jesus and John the Baptist was asking us to do, so than this makes Calvinism not make sense. What about Adam and Eve God clearly gave them a free choice if God (and he knew already) they were going to fall than did he already predestined them to go to Hell before they fell OR did God choose them to be saved and the rest of Mankind to choose who will go to heaven or hell???, I am really doing my head in just trying to think about this which would say to me Calvin was preaching heresy...Free Grace of Jesus Christ is indeed free and simple! “For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day”. John 6:40 When we encounter conflicting opinions about gospel truths, it is good to remember that “God is not the author of confusion, but of peace” (1 Corinthians 14:33).

The idea that full regeneration proceeds faith is the greatest weakness of Reformed Theology. Regeneration happens when one receives the Holy Spirit according to Titus 3:5. It is obvious that people in Acts, and those mentioned in the epistles received the Spirit AFTER profession of faith, Cornelius possibly being the only exception. Being dead in sins and trespasses does not mean God cannot speak to us. God spoke directly to Adam and Eve after they were dead in sin. However, none of this denies the doctrine of sovereign grace. God can awaken one of the elect without saving them first.

Simple answer to the question on the video post. No, you cannot deny God. The only sin that is unforgivable is to sin against the Holy Ghost, or deny the Holy Ghost. In order to do that you have to have complete knowledge of God, walk and talk with him, such as Lucifer and those who followed him. Very few Humans have been in this position. Other than that, no one is accountable enough to commit the sin
