Just found your channel. Awesome video. I'm in the process of putting together a lowbuck 351W for my street car as well. I've been wanting to keep it standard bore and use the factory pistons (low buck build), and really wanted to put some better heads on it but wasnt sure how to go about that and have the bigger valves clear them. In other words, I learned something today. :)

@@brawler3475.0 Thanks. I’m pretty good at taking low buck, junk parts in the Cleveland world and making them run harder than they should, but this is really my first low buck Windsor.

I’ve never understood how you could do this operation with hydraulic lifters and the springs you are going to use. The lifter would collapse before full lift and not give a true reading. I have always done mine with a solid lifters and test springs. No compression of valve springs and more accurate test methods?

All I needed was a location for valve reliefs the valves were 2.08 so what I was looking for was location

I used 2 hydraulic lifters that I converted to solid to test valve clearance ..👍👍

Dude if you done a piston to valve clearance check on hyd lifters without putting a washer in them then the valve spring is gonna compress the lifters and you will not get a accurate piston to valve clearance reading .. if your running solid lifters your fine
@brawler3475.0 Жыл бұрын
I had a 1/4 washer in both intake and exhaust only turned Polly lock to take up the slack in the lifter you have a keen eye 👍
