I love “Perfect Placing”, and I love scales! 😁 Maybe we can do arpeggios in an upcoming video? 😊

Anne, I purchased this book so that I could also practice looking for the top note rather than the bottom note of a triad or chord and also learn some new skills which will help me to play faster. I love all the detail you share about a seemingly simple scale! Beginners, as well as early intermediates will prosper with your teaching.

Glad it was helpful! I was lucky to have a cracker-jack teacher who helped me with those little details.

I've never thought of playing the scales in intervals but they sound really nice! Special thanks for the metronome challenge as it's been a mysterious tool for me so far. Can we get the arpeggios next time please?

Oh and also…. Another request on my other request! One thing I really struggle with, well there are many but, once I learn a piece it is always memorized. I don’t mean to do it. It is one of those things my teacher says I’m lucky to have because I can memorize witching a day. But, I will have what I can only describe as brain farts. (Excuse me) and they will likely always be the same measure or phrase throughout a song. I don’t know why. For instance your song The Rainbow Connection I get to measure 8 LH. The G-B-D. I love the feel of this and I will still hesitate. It has nothing to do with placement or fingering. It is in my head. I back up and play the measure before and after over and over again. But the next day I’m right back there again. And it is wherever this pops up in the verses. I also tend to practice too fast and constantly have to tell myself to slow down. But I want to get very smooth and fluent. I’m impatient. I’ve been playing 19 months now. I can play intermediate music flute toy but with hiccups that drive me absolutely bonkers. If you could do a lesson on this I’d love it.

You are an excellent teacher. I am 42 and just starting to learn playing the harp. One suggestion, it would be wonderful if you had a second camera angle that also shows your hands close up.

Thanks for the suggestion! When I do a full video course I have the close-up camera on my hands.

You just made playing scales fun for me! Now that I know exactly how to place, I feel more confident and patient. Thank you! 🙏🌸 PS. I will look for a video for arpeggios next. I love arpeggios, but still feel a little insecure about my technique...

I sometimes struggle with playing 2 octave scales at a decent pace. The crossovers seem to cause problems. Slowing it down, and then speeding it back up helps somewhat, but I'm still not as good at that as I'd like and the improvements don't seem to last very well from one day to the next. Do you have anything out that might help with this issue?
