SUPER interesting discussion with Phillip-their program sounds UNbeatable! You mentioned you crossed the Pacific-even with your old equipment (like the Spark drone) those were some of your BEST videos-cuz you went to such interesting places! Hope you do the Pacific again Bobby-in your brand new cat!!!

Bobby, it was nice running into you at the BVI booth in Miami. I actually sat down with someone from Navigare and went over these programs. The returns on this investment is about twice what I am presently getting on cd’s even with the high interest rates we now have. Tempting.

@1:15 I will attest to that. I chartered Hoppetossa a few years apart. The second time was on a Doodles flotilla and they do take very good care of the yachts. Not like Dream Yacht Charters...

Possibly...but there are some risks as well. Need to run the numbers and make sure this is a viable option for your specific needs. At the end of the contract, you are responsible for the boat which has depreciated significantly. So many factors, tax advantages, chartering ability, etc, that you really need to go in with a complete understanding. If you bought a $1M boat as discussed with $200K down at 7.25% on a 20 year loan you will have roughly $665,000 of debt at the end of a 6 year term...then lets say life changed and you need to sell the boat and can only sell it for $500,000. Maybe tax advantages, charter use, etc make up for that delta...but only maybe. Really enjoy your. content Bobby, but I think in fairness the risks of buying a charter boat need to be better discussed here.

Just a production note- try using a closeup camera on the guest and 2 shot on other camera- the show will cut a lot better instead of jumping from a 2 shot to another 2 shot.

What happens to the value of your equity? I think it would be informative to show an example.

@2:51 I've always been kind of iffy with YOU Bobby but whose counting? LOL! I can't wait to get my Lagoon 52 and do a standing start against your new boat! Just let me put some Precision Sails on it before we go. Miss you guys both! Lagoons rock!

@4:20 If I can add a comment here please, I've spoken with Bennett Biever, who is a Yacht Broker, with Navigare, about a Lagoon 46 that will soon be for sale, after a brief time in Navigare's program, and his words matched my direct inspection of the boat, on the dock, at Nanny Cay marina, in December of 2023. So far, I have a lot of respect from everyone I meet at Navigare and will attest to their truthfulness. I would certainly buy a boat out of their charter fleet if it was the right time and the right place.

With the utmost respect, Mr. Franzese, as someone born in Cuba and who embarked on a perilous journey to freedom at the tender age of 14 in 1991, my plea to you comes from a place of lived experience. My escape involved traversing three borders across South America, enduring captivity by guerrillas in Nicaragua, and detainment by immigration authorities in Honduras. Each time, I managed to escape, ultimately securing passage on a plane to Miami. This arduous journey was a direct consequence of the very dictatorship that continues to divide and oppress the Cuban people. Considering your esteemed position and influence, I earnestly urge you to reconsider your visit to Cuba. Your presence could inadvertently bolster the Cuban dictatorship's narrative, a regime that has historically exploited international figures to mask its oppressive deeds. The harrowing events of July 11, where peaceful protesters were met with violence, incarceration, and in some instances, death, underscore the regime's tyrannical nature. Presently, young individuals, merely for aspiring to freedom, find themselves behind bars, a stark testament to the government's relentless suppression of dissent. This regime has not only dispossessed thousands of American citizens but has also been instrumental in the loss of innumerable lives among Cubans who yearned for democracy. It has consistently aligned with some of the U.S.'s most formidable adversaries, from Yasser Arafat to Hamas, and has opposed American forces in conflicts abroad, solidifying its status as a terrorist state. In light of these realities, I implore you to leverage your platform and influence not as an inadvertent instrument of Cuban government propaganda, but as a force for advocating human rights and democracy. By standing in solidarity with the Cuban people and choosing not to visit, you would send a potent message that champions the universal values of freedom and justice, far beyond political machinations. Your decision has the potential to inspire meaningful change and lend formidable support to those courageously battling for their fundamental human rights under oppressive regimes. Just a cuban from Miami.

So run the numbers through an accountant. With only the numbers on the proforma by Navigare a 0.5 to 1.5 net is available. The actual costs are much more severe and the revenue is often discounted. No doubt the revenue would offset the loan and moorage but the maintenance is out of this world beyond the proforma. It out paces the 1.5 % posative revenue and the owner only gets quarterly reports with the maint records far behind until the bill. Same with revenue. Navigare is very slow to report revenue or cost. Plus every charge is marked up 15 to 30 %. All the whole they are taking 25 to 30% of revenue. Insuranve is running over 2% of insured value. So there go the left over pennies. But ya get to sail.

So eight years later the boat has depreciated 60% and worth 400k and made 640k so your paying less taxes on that but your asset has lost most of its value. Pay taxes on the income and its a break even.
