Just bought a 2016 Genesis two weeks ago and that car is truly remarkable. I already have a 2012, I just wanted two and that 2016 rides like a dream. And it looks good ASF....... Black on tan interior..........all the features included.......Ish is bananas........I wouldn't trade for a any benz below an S class.

This was the car that really put Hyundai on the map and made the industry shiver. It showed that Hyundai had been carefully studying the competition for years and that they were no longer holding back. Fast forward 10 years and now Genesis is its own brand and putting a dent in the luxury segment. They've already surpassed Infiniti in total sales and it's only a matter of time before they overtake Acura, Cadillac, and Lincoln. More importantly, their average sale price is over $63K which surpasses that of all the other competitor brands. Are they a perfect brand, NO, far from it. They still have a lot of work to do when it comes to powertrain development, reliability, and dealership customer service/satisfaction, but they definitely have the potential to become the next Lexus, and a far superior one at that!

They're getting pretty close. The gap is closing. Just look at their all electric line up on both the Genesis and Hyundai product line. Also, take a close look at the newely anticipated Ioniq 5 N.

I ended up getting a Hyundai Sonata N-Line which shares the same new engine with the G80. Pretty decent vehicle. Would like to see you guys review one.

Thanks for great review.I have owned a 2016 Canadian Spec 3.8 Luxury spec AWD since 2018 .It had 10000 Kilometers when I bought it & it's been great. I'm a 12 year retired Mercedes Sales/Sales Manager & always drove S Classes for 20 years.This car drives closer to an S than a E & is less expensive to service & so far more reliable. Mine is Ibiza Blue with Charcoal interior. It's good fuel economy ( 28 MPG on highway) on regular gas is pretty impressive for a 4500 lb car. I tell people you get 80% of a Mercedes for about 1/2 the price. I have 5 cars so I'm only @ 53000 Kilometers now so I plan to drive it for a few years more or if I find a newer Genesis Sport I might move up in future.

Just got outta navy boot. I’ll be at my ultimate duty station by May. I’m currently selling my 2022 Subaru WRX and saving the funds I make off the WRX as a down payment for a 2015 Genny 5.0 V8. Call me crazy. I’m 23 years old. And I love V8s luxury aspects and features, and going fast. I’m getting this before I get me 2016 Harley’s Davidson night rod special. My question to you is the sound system is known for lacking bass. Is this true?

I haven’t had any issues with Lexicon sound system. It sounds great however the highs are a little bright. Just need around with EQ until you get your desired sound

Rear seats, to my knowledge, do not fold down at all, on any G80 model.

@@BerettaBoom Sound system is awesome. The rear seats do not fold down. There is a pass through. I've owned a 2015 5.0 myself, and have upgraded to a 2018 5.0 HTRAC. Neither of them have folding rear seats.

Okay. 1.The transmission is NOT a CVT. 2. The rev hang is annoying. However, Hyundai has revised the transmission in 2018 for this exact car which was re-branded as the G80. I woud recommend finding a 2018 model and test drive the revised mechanics. The transmission is a whole lot better.

If you think the v6 is good the 5.0 v8 is a lot better and it was a big mistake and shame that they did away with it.
