I have a Ram 1500 currently and have been buying a permit last 6 yrs. I plan on buying a 3500/350 or 550/5500 by end of 2025. Reason being is I’ve been dying to get a slide in camper for years and the one I’m gonna buy is the lance 1172. Which has a wet weight around 4600lbs. Do you have any recommendation or advice for bring on to the beach. I always air down my 1500 to 15psi when I go out. Never once have I ever got stuck or close to getting stuck. I’m out there a lot too. Especially November during the striper fall run. I see quite a bit of duallys out there from time to time but not sure how that works with airing down the tires with a camper that heavy or just for the dually tires in the back.

Is your rig 4wd?

Nice rig. Airing down is key to not getting stuck.

Very true, but 19.5 tires are a whole other problem.

With a 4wd a really heavy camper filled with food and water plus the stuff on the front and at least 2 people I don't see how it is below the GVWR.

interested in possibly doing this. heard some mixed things since "camping" isn't allowed in the park. Do you have to have lines in the water at all times? aka no sleeping?

Correct it isn’t camping, it’s fishing

Understood your frustration, but after the car was clear, you came on like kind of a douche. Blew through a stop sign and entered the beach above the speed limit. Again I too have had to wait for unauthorized people to get unstuck or removed. But after that, drove on peacefully to find a great beach location. Do'nt get me wrong, I get it with the "Benny" trying to drive on.

I’ve since replace these tires for 41 inch super singles, you can look for videos here too. Anyway, I don’t know exactly what incident you’re referring to, but I did have to drive a lot faster to prevent this beast from sinking in. That’s no longer the case he’s super singles are unstoppable.

What tire pressure do you run on the beach with your 19.5"s?? How low can you go? Great looking and functioning rig!

Check out my Mpt81 super singles video. Don’t use 19.5

1. You have 19.5 inch wheels, not tires. 2. Wheel (or tire size, for that matter) have no bearing on how well a vehicle can drive on the beach. Tread, air preasure, and weight are what matters. 3. Nice rig.

cshaw345 Not sure if we’re splitting hairs here but they are called 19.5 truck tires inevitably that may have to do with the rim size nonetheless. In this particular case you are wrong about tires not affecting beach performance. 19.5 truck tires have sidewalls that don’t allow the tire to swell very much w low pressure. For one you have to be very careful not to damage them because the side walls have steel belts inside but they also don’t perform as well and can’t be aired down very low or they will fall off the rims.

@@NJRenewableEnergy Most people with a truck camper know what 19.5s imply. I just put some on a few weeks ago. Single rear wheel though. I live up in Washington State and could drive on the beach if I had the courage. I'd love to take the camper out there but I just don't know. We clam dig or surf perch fish. I can see you aired down but the tires certainly don't squish out like a regular tire. I was under the impression it wasn't even worth it on a 19.5, but some increase in tire floatation must be better than none. What did you air down to?
