Its towing capacity is mid range, it has adjustable air suspension, ofc has a bed even if it is on the small side like most trucks, it is okay off road but certainly not the best, if you have actual traction it will out pull most trucks, etc. Some random “bonuses” are the acceleration and instant torque, etc. There are areas it lacks but it is ignorant or even disingenuous to act like this truck fails at everything, especially when in some ways it is better than the average truck

I still remember cross country trips with my dad in my teens in a 98 12v. Stopping at the hotel at night my ears didn't stop ringing for several hours! I've now had Ford 7.3, 6.0, 6.7, Chevy LBZ, and LMM. Even in a brand new F-450 Platinum I'm still in the habit of turning it off in a drive thru. Although it is crazy how much the noise level dropped between the diesels up to the 2002-2005 time frame and the newer trucks! I'm a hard core diesel guy, rn I have a Silverado 3500, Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel, and a VW Sportwagen TDI manual, but I have to admit some of the tech in the Cybertruck is going to be a game changer. In particular the 48 volt system. It's amazing that with everything stuffed into modern cars that everyone else is still using 12 volts.
@justinr97536 ай бұрын
Watching the Cybertruck steering teardown video reminded me I needed to spray some peppermint spray under my hood to keep critters out. 48 volts means smaller wires that would arc easier wouldn't it?

12v is inherently safer. Yes you gain some efficiency and can have thinner wires but it's marginal and might gain you a mile of range at best.

For about the same price you can get a nicely equipped Ram 3500 Dually that will drag along about three times as much weight, and get more range doing it (the full towing weight of ~37,000lbs. as I think TFL did a fully load fuel mileage to the tune of 8ish MPG), refuels in minutes has the same creature comforts ...the new 6.7L is fairly quiet ...and looks far and away better inside and out than the Cybertruck. I'd buy the Ram 2500/3500 Dually all day every day over the Tesla.

Cyber truck can’t tow a trailer more than 80 miles before the battery dies. The Cummins engine will last a million miles with very low maintenance cost. You will never get a million miles out of an electric vehicle with out replacing the battery every 5-10 years for thousands of dollars. The Cummins engine will run until the dodge rust away to dust. Then you can take it out and put it in the cyber truck and run it.

My money goes on the Ram, it will pull a 10 ton trailer all day long, and the power unit will last for 300,000 miles easily. It's not possible to walk to a filling station and get enough electricity to get you there so you can fill up. It costs about $1,000 to have a charging station wired to the breaker panel in your house, but if you can spend $100,000 on the vehicle, I guess it doesn't matter, but the battery will need to be replaced in 10 years for the price of a very nice used gas powered vehicle.
