My 01 Dodge 1500 has had 3600lbs of gravel in it. Granted it was custom ordered and has an extra spring. I just wanna say I was a Chevy guy, but then we bought this Dodge at a year old and it’s been 100% dependable, its never failed to do anything I asked. It’s pulled diesels up the Rocky Mountains, it’s pulled a loaded Peterbuilt 10 miles in the Smokey mountains. I have a 99 24v Cummins now too, that 360 is surprisingly Cummins like in the way it pulls. Chrysler is usually crap, but my Dodge has amazed me for 22 years straight. I am very proud of my little blue truck 💙

It went exactly how expected. Both on dirt, neither go anywhere, just dig holes. Even on pavement it comes down to traction, wich truck has the stickier tires or most weight. Doesn't matter if one has 300hp and the other vehicle has a 1,000hp. As long as both vehicles have enough power to spin the wheels it will always come down to traction/weight.

New trucks are much safer, pollute a lot less (noise and exhaust), much more comfortable and have more functionality. Fossil fuels are on their way out and software is becoming all important. How exactly? It does just about everything okay enough and some spectacularly. As a general truck its not the best but certainly not the worst, especially if you talk about vehicles in general. Its towing capacity is mid range, it has adjustable air suspension, ofc has a bed even if it is on the small side like most trucks, it is okay off road but certainly not the best, if you have actual traction it will out pull most trucks, etc. Some random “bonuses” are the acceleration and instant torque, etc. There are areas it lacks but it is ignorant or even disingenuous to act like this truck fails at everything, especially when in some ways it is better than the average truck

I still remember cross country trips with my dad in my teens in a 98 12v. Stopping at the hotel at night my ears didn't stop ringing for several hours! I've now had Ford 7.3, 6.0, 6.7, Chevy LBZ, and LMM. Even in a brand new F-450 Platinum I'm still in the habit of turning it off in a drive thru. Although it is crazy how much the noise level dropped between the diesels up to the 2002-2005 time frame and the newer trucks! I'm a hard core diesel guy, rn I have a Silverado 3500, Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel, and a VW Sportwagen TDI manual, but I have to admit some of the tech in the Cybertruck is going to be a game changer. In particular the 48 volt system. It's amazing that with everything stuffed into modern cars that everyone else is still using 12 volts.

For about the same price you can get a nicely equipped Ram 3500 Dually that will drag along about three times as much weight, and get more range doing it (the full towing weight of ~37,000lbs. as I think TFL did a fully load fuel mileage to the tune of 8ish MPG), refuels in minutes has the same creature comforts ...the new 6.7L is fairly quiet ...and looks far and away better inside and out than the Cybertruck. I'd buy the Ram 2500/3500 Dually all day every day over the Tesla.

Cyber truck can’t tow a trailer more than 80 miles before the battery dies. The Cummins engine will last a million miles with very low maintenance cost. You will never get a million miles out of an electric vehicle with out replacing the battery every 5-10 years for thousands of dollars. The Cummins engine will run until the dodge rust away to dust. Then you can take it out and put it in the cyber truck and run it.

My money goes on the Ram, it will pull a 10 ton trailer all day long, and the power unit will last for 300,000 miles easily. It's not possible to walk to a filling station and get enough electricity to get you there so you can fill up. It costs about $1,000 to have a charging station wired to the breaker panel in your house, but if you can spend $100,000 on the vehicle, I guess it doesn't matter, but the battery will need to be replaced in 10 years for the price of a very nice used gas powered vehicle.

I was amazed at how much the Ram flexed during the rut test. At least it kept the wheels on the ground. Just an observation. Maybe the CT could use more flex although the CT did navigate that section just fine even with wheels off the ground. I am a fan of both of these trucks. The RAM with the Cummins is choice.

Chase, every cybertruck owner knows to put a pin in the hitch. They just have to enter it in the towing menu. ...😎
