Fibroids are benign tumors that can develop in the uterus, causing symptoms such as heavy bleeding, clot discharge, and painful periods. They can hinder pregnancy planning and require treatment if present in specific locations. Types of fibroids include intramural, subserosal, pedunculated, and submucous. Treatment options are temporary, and once the size reduces, the chances of fibroid growth back increase.
A woman with fibroids can definitely conceive naturally but certain complications may occur during pregnancy, such as red degeneration, torsion, preterm labor, breakage of amniotic fluid , breech positions, and placenta descent.
