New challenge: the fake rich challenge Have a huge fancy expensive house but start with 1000 simoleons. You have to hire all services (maid, gardener, chef, etc. you don’t need a nanny unless you have children) and you’re not allowed to do anything that will save you money like turning lights off, using generators or water collectors, etc. You’re allowed to sell and find collectibles but you can’t do anything that would be considered “dirty” like digging things up or have any career that isn’t “glamorous” (i dunno how to explain it but basically you cant be like a gardener or a part timer or anything like that) Basically you have to try and survive/build up an actual fortune while maintaining the front that you’ve been rich all along

No I have an idea, I have NEW CHALLENGE too. You already are rich, but you have to spent all to 0 WITHOUT BUILDMODE. you can already have a house when starting. use all those interactions like ordering food, paying for barmans, hiring comedians, having parties, tipping every artist/musician/manual worker/service in restaurant, etc you can. You get it. Can my rich sim get 0$ broke without buying anything in BUILDMODE?

The reason your plants keep moving around when you plant them is because you’re planting them too close together, they’re a full tile wide and you’re trying to plant them on every half tile

Fun fact about flower arranging: If your sim gives someone a tulip scented bouquet as a gift, they have to stay faithful to your sim for 3 days. I never knew this until super recently

The romance interactions for the partner will be greyed out, and it says something like 'this Sim has been gifted with a faithful bouquet' as the reason for it being greyed out.

I got rich off of flower arranging with one of my families, the wife was a stay at home mom and arranged flowers on the side. the most expensive flower arrangement can sell for like 6k simoleons, you need level 10 in the skill and orchids tho, which took me some time to get. But once you have them, it’s really easy to get rich cause it doesn’t take that long to make the arrangements, my sim could make like 4x6k simoleons per day while also spending time with her kids and cooking and stuff.

Beachcombing is a definite yes and pretty quickly too. I once tried a rags to riches on a tiny island lot in Sulani, and yep, my character made most of her money from beachcombing. (Also I randomly fished up a camera (?) so I threw in some photography too. And Sulani DEFINITELY has good stuff to photograph.)

If you want a lot with lots of free plant resources just around, move to that empty lot on the island in Windenburg. I did this just because I liked the location and it turns out, THERE ARE PLANTS EVERYWHERE. Snapdragons, bluebells, blackberries, strawberries, mushrooms...also a fishing spot and a free bonfire to warm up at. Good stuff!

It actually makes tons of money. Don't bother growing the flowers. Get high enough skill to make the pink orchid bouquet and sell them on the yard sale table for 300% markup. They usually go from $22k-$26k a pop.

The flower arranging skill is definitely something you can get rich off in the long run. Once you have a bunch of flowers and a high skill the arrangements can be worth a couple thousand simoleons. Also, a better neigborhood to go to for flowers is where the Goth family lives. There's a community garden there with a bunch of flowers

I did an entire generation's playthrough of this by accident, and let me tell you: YES. BEING A FLORIST IS INSANELY LUCRATIVE. Here's what you need to do: 1. Use a table to sell things from either Eco Living or City Living. Mark things up high. Plopsy also works, I think. It comes with the knitting stuff pack. Click on the arrangements to add them. The tables are portable, and so are the plants! 2. Grow all of your own flowers, especially bluebells and snapdragons. The bluebells can be used as an additive to keep the bouquets from decaying FOREVER, and the snapdragons make great fertilizer! 3. Get bees. They will pollinate the plants and make them grow fast. And you can sell the honey for great money. 4. Save up for a shop, even a tiny one. Run it yourself. I made 100k that way in less than a week. I had the smallest lot type with the price set to the maximum. Make replacements. Don't restock them. If you have employees, tell them not to restock items each day. 5. Put the plants inside. They will grow all year round. Get the vertical planters and upgrade them to auto water and pest control. Parts can be purchased on the computer. You can also buy the eco-living ground planters via the debug menu and then you don't need to water your plants. 6. Loves the outdoors and free thumb help with this! The crafting trade from eco living is good for this, too! Go to that gym in willow creek to get the plants you need to be started. 7. THE ROMANCE AND SPICE FESTIVALS ARE GREAT PLACES TO GET AMAZING PLANTS! if you have eco-living, vote for a public garden and add sellers tables to it. People will sell flowers and you can buy them. You can sell stuff here, too, and you get a kit of attention. Congratulations, you're now rich! I hope this was helpful! It's actually very fun! Let me know if you have questions! I love doing this! That area of Oasis Spring may be the best place to find collectibles like frogs, crystals and metals. Also, several plants, including some flowers. You don't need legumes and fruits for the cash, but you can eat them. That way, you can save some cash.

you can buy roses/tulips from the gift menu on the phone. irises are near the library in willow creek, and everything else can be got at the romance festival. when i had a sim using the flower table as their main money source, some arrangements were selling for few thousand simoleans.

When I do these challenges I add extra difficulty where I can only sell things to other sims, so on the sales table or on Plopsy. It's really hard but feels more realistic !

You should totally revisit this, because with the addition of the wedding pack, tartosa has a flower stand that sells orchids that you can just buy and therefore plant, and you can make an actual killing SO FAST with flower arrangements hahaha. Scent with bluebells, and you could probably sell them in like yardsale tables or in a retail lot.

The "Dazed" moodlets were from that "Juiced Community" NAP - Stanley's buddy was drunk XD Also, when a Sim has maxed flower arranging (and you use bluebells to keep the bouquets fresh), you can get THOUSANDS for each arrangement.

one of my favorite get rich quick is the handiness skill and woodworking table, when you get enough skill to craft the bath tube you can get some good money selling them, also if you want to spend the money, you can buy a rose and possibly others on phone/computer

My sim got really rich from flower arranging. But it does have a longer start-up before it gets good yeah. Wat really helped for my sim was selling the arrangements on plopsy. Especially with the higher qualities because they almost always got sold. And even though the plant's freshness goes down with time, it still gets sold as if it's on the day you listed it on plopsy. If I recall correctly, on some rose arrangements my sim recieved a couple of thousand bucks from just 1 arrangement. Also combining it with the floral designer career and then work from home is really nice too for some 'free' extra money: if you get the daily task to make an arragement and you complete that, you get the money from the job done, and you keep the arragement which you can then sell off again for extra money.

My favorite starter lot because of that little gathering area with the grill and such. I collect frogs and dig in the spots. Sell the items and save to build a 3X4 room house. I save up then for a selling table and mark up the price to 300%. Rich quick!

If you click on the fertilizer and 'use the same one' a bunch, it doesn't actually fertilize everything after the first, but it still removes the ability for some time.

I've had a couple of my sims make videos. The simoleons build up as they get daily royalty payments. I'm actually playing the Not So Berry challenge at the moment, on Rose gen and have had her making videos since she was a child. She maxed out her communication skill and was on level 4 of the charisma skill when she aged up to a teenager because of the videos. She was bringing in more than 2k a day with her video royalties as a teenager too. She's now a young adult and the daily royalty payments are exceeding 5k per day.

Tips: to have Inspired emotion for better practice at flower arranging (and also other art related skills) you can go Cloudgaze(day)/Stargaze(night). It's so much faster to build skills :) Plus you can go cloudgaze with other people and increase the friendship meter too ☺
