Excellent selections of variations and dancers! Loved this and missed 3! Not familiar with Talisman and Esmeralda... Great idea and so beneficial for trainees!

0:38 originally the music for the Goddess Ella's (or Niriti) Entrance in Petipa's "Le Talisman". 1:24 originally the 3rd variation in the "Pas de trois des Almées" from Petipa's "Pharaoh's Daughter". 2:33 originally the "Valse mignonne", variation for Petipa's "La Vestale". 3:10 originally music for the scene "Rêverie" from "La Esmeralda".

I got all besides 1 ,3 and 7 ...this means I should rewatch DQ definitely.(;-.... I really love how you included a wide range of ballets - also the less known - and different types of performances/recordings and companies. Most difficult were for me those without the full staging context, when the music was actually the most hint, and when you also put very similar choices (such like for the first). It was for me a bit confusing with "merchant" (Lankedem?) and "doll" (Swanilda?)

Thank you very much!! I try my best to be inclusive to all ethnicities, genders, styles etc. It's true that many variations have more than one names with which they're known. You can see that from the comments and it also depends on where people live. Thanks again so much for watching, commenting and, generally speaking, supporting this channel

@@BalletQuiz well, it's nice to learn more about ballet! I'm not so familar with the specific names of variations, but I know that characters can have different names in different regions (such like Hilarion vs Hans, Clara vs Masha, Crystal Fontain Fairy vs Candide...) I just pointed this out as I was first more thinking about who is this character, and was not thinking about such variation names...

Bravo pour vos quizz😊 La musique aide beaucoup pour répondre aux questions, surtout pour les extraits de concours. La variation de Roméo m'a interpellé. Vous avez une idée du nom du chorégraphe ? Je ne pense pas qu'il s'agit de Noureev ou de McMillan, les deux que je connais pour ce ballet. Pour Coppélia, il me semble qu'une autre bonne réponse est Swaldina. Elle imite en effet une poupée (Coppélia) pour faire croire à Copélius que le transfert d'âme de Franz vers Coppélia fonctionne.

Merci beaucoup! Je suis très contente que ça vous ait plu ! Oui vous avez raison pour Swanilda, on trouve cette variation sous les deux noms, "doll variation" ou "Swanilda variation" et poupée était un peu plus simple.
