Haha, except one can argue that we don’t need geometry teachers then. I’d rather say though it is a niche reasons, it is important to know it if you wish to manufacture a box for storage, you need to know how much material is required to make a box of a certain dimension. As for the formula itself, I don’t like it because it isn’t pleasing to look at, I’d rather have someone tell me to add up the area of all of the sides, and I would eventually come up with that formula because I know some properties of rectangular prisms.

You cappin. I'm literally in high school and I just learned those not that long ago and not even I could recognize them as fast as you. Edit: for clarity, I've learned all these concepts collectively from middle school till now. I'm not behind and I don't need to study because I'm taking consumer math (an actually useful math class) and I'm not going into any mathematically heavy fields. Also, the things I was struggling to remember weren't how to use the formulas, but the names of formulas. If I'm currently in school and can't remember the names of most of them, I find it hard to believe an adult who probably hasn't used them in longer than I have, can. Also, I'm 17, if I say something dumb, don't take it seriously because there is a good chance I have no idea wtf I'm talking about.
