Some tibits. Avatar: was bad because they casted white kids when they were supposed to be asian was one of the biggest blunders. Hocus Pocus: The boy who lost his sister at the beginning was played by Sean Murray who is now McGee in NCIS. Hook: Julia Roberts was such a B**ch in the making they called her Tinker Hell. Indiana: Lucas gave the idea to use aliens in this movie. Jaws 4 Michael Caine only did it to buy a house. Jumanji: Bebe Neuwirth who played in original was the aunt. She came back as Nora in Jumanji the Next Level. Dora: Grown ups: Fast and Furious 3: They added cameo of Vin to bring some ratings up after bad pre-screening. The Greatest Showman: Took 9 years to make. Sausage Party:

I suspect that a lot of the surprisingly rotten scores (eg, Hocus Pocus, Jumanji) come from reviewers who were unaware that the films were aimed at young kids. The original trailers for Jumanji and Hook especially made them look more like films for the whole family (ie, nothing inappropriate for kids, but interesting enough for adults).

The sad thing is most people on here don’t actually know how Rotten Tomatoes works. They don’t employ critics, nor do they actually score movies. An 85% means that 85% of critics gave the movie at least a 6/10. A 6 is not a great score so 85% doesn’t necessarily mean the movie is any good.
