Can you have a good night out in... Rotherham?

We headed for some Friday night madness to the Yorkshire town of Rotherham... where we had been told it is impossible to have a good night out and that we shouldn't waste our time... Well, as you know by now... we never take anyone else's word for it... and you can see exactly what we thought of the entire town including the following pubs...

There's a lot of people trying to do good in Rotherham unfortunately a vast amount of locals who don't even use these places are all too quick to pull it down, I'm really glad you enjoyed it! Big shout out to Paul absolute legend!

Really enjoyed that video. I'm originally from Rotherham, but live in Buxton now. Me and my mate met up and did a little trip down memory lane in Rotherham a couple of Friday's ago and that was the only disappointment that everywhere was so quiet Back in the day it used to be much, much busier on a Friday. Such a shame really. As regards 'spoons at one time there was 3, as well as The Bluecoat, there was The Corn Law Rhymer which was a Lloyds No1 and opposite where we you where at Elliots etc. The other was The Rhinoceros, on Bridgegate, the road where you were looking towards the Minster after the Angel. Rotherham's first 'spoons and I'm not certain, but might have even opened before the first one in Sheffield. The Red Lion, that you couldn't find is just along there, but tucked away, down a little alley. All in all, I really enjoyed my recent visit and wow, those prices, it was good to be back on a Friday night. At least there wasn't any long waits to get served, but those cracking pubs really do deserve to be busier.

Enjoyable little video singing the praises of my home town. 15 years ago there were twice as many pubs in town and a lot busier but what are left have always been the better ones. It'll be absolutely rammed in those pubs on match days!

Back in the day you’d start at Bluecoats and work your way down. We had millennium, mozeppas, bar one…Rotherham was such a good night. You’d finish off in beach night club or liquid and then there were plenty of taxis to get you home! Now a lot of people go to Wickersley which is a pub crawl in itself!

Firstly COYR ❤ went to the Cutlers a couple of weeks ago, first impressions was it looked run down and a bit rough, went inside and the staff were really welcoming the locals friendly the beer cheap and they had the Band Big Country playing in the back yard, what’s not to love ❤️ Good luck on your quest

Town gets very busy from midnight onwards (you will struggle to get in Elliots) especially on a Saturday when it’s far busier people tend to taxi in when the local pub’s close. Worth noting Snafu also has live rock bands almost every Saturday 👍. Town Also has a nightclub (Renoir’s) which is all the way back up the hill just beyond the cross keys on the way to weatherspoons 😂
