yeah i remember that. Almost everybody have Scythe cooler in PC back in 20xx. Recently i purchased their new Fuma 3 cooler and for 50euro is good cooler (and their motherboard compatibility is Excellent for future pc builds) very competetive to Noctua D15S which cost 120euro (chromax)

Scythe Kama and Slipstream, around 15 yeara old, used for years, still working. Kama was a thing when Noctua had P12 pressure fan as best of the bunch and was under 10 euros while Noctua was around 20 to 25 if I remember corectly. Still, P12 had weird pitch boise due to its blade design at around 1000rpm while Kama had just a bit lower pressure but was as silent and half the money. History continues.

The A12 is still considered the best due to its sound frequency. Even the phanteks get super annoying sounds at above 1300 rpm. arctic P12 and uni p28 lian li also have sound issues. It doesn't matter how better a fan is in cfm, static pressure or cooling efficiency if it will produce annoying sounds next to my head, given the pc case is on the table.

Funny how things have changed. Back in the late 90's ( and my late teens ), I liked my CPU fan making noise, it meant it worked and it was kind of like having an engine humming. But now, I'm like everyone else, I like silence.

@@seamon9732 my first 2 pc were loud as hell and I didn't care, you got used to it somehow lol But now, with my gf I share bureau sometimes and since my case ison desk I'd rather keep it performing, but silent if possible.

funny how this fan resembles the thermalright TL-B12 almost perfectly and even has the same S-FDB Bearing etc. i am currently using a thermalright Frozen Edge 360 AIO which has the 3 TL-B12 fans and must say they work really well. Also from what i understand they make an extreme model as well which is there 3k Rpm fan version vs the standard 2150RPM and makes me curious if even the standard B12 fan is capable of 3k Rpm but they are limiting it the same way you can limit these Grand tornado's? But just out of the box? Probably not the case lol but it is crazy how much they resemble each other straight down to the bearing they used + the center hub gold nut etc just minus the Lcp material.

Do you plan to do the Wonder Tornado as well? It's significantly less expensive but still looks promising, at least on paper.

Great video! What would you say though, is the very best Radiator fan? Like, the very VERY best, price doesn't matter, same for noise. Just raw performance wise on a Radiator? Are the T30 already the maximum, or are there any crazier ones than that?
@Spinelli__
@Spinelli__ 9 ай бұрын
Phanteks T30 are still the best if talking about "normal" PC fans. Normal being a fan that can safely work at it's max speed and consume less than 1.0 A since just about all motherboard fan headers are rated to up to 1.0 A. You can get better performing fans but they'll be industrial fans that you cannot hook up to a motherboard fan header and are usually much thicker and are usually much much louder and in the 4000-7000 RPM range. For "normal" stuff, Phanteks T30 is still king.

Why don't you include noise recording? also max speed perf is not really indicative, noise normalised would be much more usefull

more like a better Gentle Typhoon, which they used to sell under Nidec’s license

It's definitely inferior to the T30 and NF A12x25. It seems Scythe needs a proper partner like Nidec to make a revolutionary fan (like the Gentle Typhoon).

@user-qb1nk1ey2d I would say they have different design concepts, noctua A12 focus on Noise/RPM all the way, and Grand Tornedo seems designed to minimize the maximum Noise at full speed. This is smart, since little people can know the difference between 39dB and 40dB.

@@Crunkmaster depends on your situation. In my personal case it interests me to have a relatively silent build, regardless of me having really good headsets when gaming or playing sound. I went for the infinity lian li in the end anyways, the nictua didn't match my build.
