In a past life I did this for a living...sound. We used AKG mics for most in house applications...vocals...etc. For our conference room interviews we used a tube powered Neumann. I got to play around with EV mics, Astatic, Sennheisers....practically every low to high end mic that was made. The Neumann was, at the time, a $6000.00 mic. It never, ever left the studio. In fact, when it wasn't being used I locked it up. For remotes...news stories, interviews...there was only one mic to use...an EV 635. I swear you could drive nails with it and it would still work. To my ears...and given the limitations of sending audio over the internet...and my little crapola laptop speakers...the $300 mic sounds a bit better...fuller...than the $30 one. BUT.....ten times better? Nope. I can buy ten of the cheap mics to one of the expensive mics. The difference in sound between the two is mice nuts.

True same goes with headphones. Is the $350 Audio-Technicha R70x really 10 times better than the $35 Samson SR850 in design, comfort, frequency response, audio reproduction technicalities, and build quality? Almost definitely not. But to be fair the extra cost very likely comes from bigger profit margins afforded by brand recognition as well as more overhead from higher manufacturing costs, better paid engineers & corporate staff, and other business-marketing-sales-distribution costs. Personally I'd say $245 or 7 times the price of the SR850 is a great price to snag a pair of the R70x

As a music composer I would neither use both microphones but $300 for a vocal microphone it's crisp but lacks detail there's no punch it's dull, the $30 ones are horrible there's literally no bass, the highs are all over the place and some mids but here's a neat trick if you pass it through some plugins and use a high pass filter and add some bass that would have no difference, it's all down to the skill, that being said use an audio technica mic and you're good to go

She is positioned almost opposite of my desk 🤔 Are there any mics that can allow us to have our classes in this way ? P.S : we’re also planning to start a two ppl podcasting KZbin channel with interviews, debates, discussions and sorts 🙂 Thank you once again for your time and work! 😊

Relatively speaking, the costlier registers the amplitude of different frequencies very clearly, even though the difference between the frequencies are quite low, giving so much richness to the sound quality. Probably their ADC is pretty good. The noise floor was well managed too. This is my understanding for now. I would love to be corrected though.

The Neewer is tinny sounding. But the other one is very good. It's not perfect either though. I'm listening through my Sony MDR 7506 studio headphones, and these things can pick up a fly farting from five feet away from the mic. The Neewer has some hiss that would kill any professional work, so like he said, if you're doing some studio work, don't use that mic. Even with the noise reduction, your audio quality would be trash for any professional job. The other mic would work fine for professional work. It'll get you some gigs and keep getting you gigs. I can hear an issue with it only because my mic is perfect for my voice, and I know what I like for my voice. But the higher end one is definitely a good quality mic. Good vid.

I will say this, at that price the X1 is not worth it especially considering I got the Valve version of that mic for under $150 the reflection filter is a huge chunk at that price accounting for like $200 on it's own. That particular mic was around $100 on release the cost of that as a kit makes sense because the majority of the cost is the reflection filter, regardless great video you still illustrated the point between a professional condenser and a budget USB mic, the USB is useable for sure, I wouldn't use it myself though I've already spoiled my ears with studio mics :')

Tech Notice no it seems to count the actual USB adapter as a usb headset itself? Once I put the 3.5mm to the metal part of the adapter it starts to make some noise then once it’s fully plugged in it just doesn’t seem to work..at all
