At 2:12 those are flash cubes but not for Polaroid cameras. They were primarily for instamatic cameras that used standard film. Polaroids typically used a row of bulbs.

I got them all, but I'm 77 years old. I still have several of those things, but the antiques are just for decoration now, including a treadle Singer sewing machine, a crank clothes wringer, a couple of "thunder jugs", a bunch of glass insulators and much more.

The question shouldn't be 'how many do you remember' necessarily - more 'how many do you recognise/know what they are'. I mean, you'd have to be REALLY old to have come across a charcoal iron or mimeograph. And no-one in the UK would recognise the drive-in speaker, as we never had drive-in theatres here. But other than that, we knew every single one (we're 63 and 30 respectively). Had a lot of them, too ...

I guess this means I'm as old as dirt. Recognized 47. Three were not in my child environment. BTW the flashbulbs were for Instamatic cameras, Polaroid cameras had there own built-in reusable flash.

@@addjewelry We didn't have mimographs in the UK. What we had in our classrooms was a 'banda' machine: you typed or drew onto a purple stencil which got fitted round a drum, and then turned the handle. You ended up with a nice pile of mid-purple 'copies' which smelt very strongly of some sort of spirit (white spirit perhaps). I loved having my turn at handing them out - we'd sniff them as we delivered them round the classroom! ROFL. Oh, and I was at school in the 70s.

That Atari thing had me puzzled. We just never had things like that. There were electronics that were easily recognizable, but that was a real head scratcher. For example, we had seen answering machines, as every business had one. But for home use they were considered rather vulgar. So the Atari just wasn't even seen in businesses, and no homes that I ever visited. Maybe we were just barbarians living on the edge of civilization, or something like it.
