Just wanted to add in, you said if you are trying to decide between going home or staying at the hospital, then go home. Be careful giving that advice though because I was advised to go home even though I was in labor because the nurse thought it would be a while. Came back 3 hours later much further along. Then to my surprise, when I got my bill, I was charged TWICE for an "ER visit" because they somehow get away with billing labor and delivery triage as ER. Even with good insurance, that was an extraordinarily expensive bill. I would have rather stayed at the hospital for hours than had to pay that hefty bill twice. Not to mention, a lot of people cant afford that. It'd be nice if patients were warned about that before being told to go home and come back later.

@lcnewberrie90213 жыл бұрын
With my first born, when I was in labor with her (11 years ago) my Mom and I were doing laps around the hospital because my Mom told me it'd help then a nurse in the hallway told us that, "it's been proven that walking does nothing to help labor". My water had broke and I was in labor for 18 hours and was having excruciating back labor and I was trying to do it without an epidural I stayed 3 CM dilated until 15 hours in and I just couldn't take the pain anymore so I got the epidural. I ended up being fully dilated an hour later, but every time the doctor came to ask me if I was ready, I didn't feel the urge to push at all which is why I didn't deliver until 18 hours in. Anyways, this time around I've been walking and doing excercise videos to try and induce labor and I've definitely noticed baby boy moves farther into the pelvis with some of the workouts (problem is he doesn't like to stay there), but I'm super pissed at that nurse for telling me walking doesn't work because if I had continued to walk there's a chance I could have gone without getting the epidural, she obviously didn't know what she was talking about.

You should talk about prodromal labor. I have have contractions almost every day for the last 11 weeks. They occur every 2-3 mins lasting for hours. Have been in preterm labor 3 times now. I also have Braxton Hicks every once in awhile and they feel totally different than the prodromal contractions. It's miserable. Unfortunately needing him to stay in as long as possible and the fact that my comfort isn't a reason for induction means I still have 2 weeks to deal with the pain.
@aWholihan6 жыл бұрын
Heather Herman this exact same thing has been happening to me. I’m miserable and exhausted and have gone to the hospital twice, once at 32 weeks where they gave me meds to stop contractions and once at 35 where they just monitored me for a bit then sent me home. My due date is in 2 days and I have been on a level of discomfort to in pain nearly the whole time I’ve been pregnant. I have had nerve pain the whole time in my back and hips the whole time. My ligaments are so loose that I legitimately have felt my spine crack crack crack the whole time to the point where it’s brought tears to my eyes. I sometimes can’t even walk. It’s PAINFUL. I would be able to sleep if it weren’t for the fact that I’ve had post nasal drip and congestion nearly the whole time I’m pregnant that is worse when I have dairy and spicy foods. I’m still eating the spicy foods because I love it. If I didn’t have one or both of these symptoms the whole time I was pregnant I would be fine. I knew my back would be sore. I didn’t know that I’d get the nerve pain and that it would make my knees give out.

I'm watching this video 2 year later because the is covid19 and in my city all the hospital are shut down since last week and I'm 38+6 week in. No appointment no exam, just emergencies. I need to know what to do on my due date in case ma Labour doesn't start cause for what I see my baby is kinda lazy. Let's hope everithing goes well and happen naturally so I don't have to wait too much!

Thank you for sharing this! I started walking until exhaustion and increasing physical activity throughout the day to help me go into labor and it didn't work. I'm still waiting for this baby to be ready to be born.

When would you recommend to star drinking raspberry leaf tea. I will obviously talk to my midwife, but I'm just curious
@brooklynmarie73326 жыл бұрын
Amy Pinnau I'm on baby #4 and Dr just told me to start it at 20 weeks if I wanted I had no clue about it before this one hope this helps❤ but as always talk to your Dr etc before to make sure there's no worry of early onset labor.

Okay, glad I asked cause I wouldn't have asked when to start until.i was about 30 weeks. So I'll make sure to ask her sooner, thanks!

I'm 25 weeks today, what does it do?
@carson5515 жыл бұрын
LAVHELESANI MUNGONI It strengthens your uterus so you have a faster labor. It also helps decrease the amount you bleed after having the baby. These comments reminded me I need to go make some more. I’m just so pregnant and tired and lazy! Also, pineapple, evening primrose oil, and sex (sperm) help soften your cervix. Evening primrose oil also thins your blood. That’s not good for you after you give birth because you want every contraction after birth to really count. My doctor said she only recommends evening primrose oil to women who have never had a baby and show no signs of change in their cervix that are desperate to get the baby out and refuse induction. Dates help you dilate. I’ve heard you should start eating 6 a day at 36 weeks. They also help speed up labor and recovery. Look up everything I said just to check yourself. I’m tired of being pregnant so I’ve been researching.

You have dilation without having contractions? Even irregular? Is it possible?
@heatherhughes56835 жыл бұрын
@@angeladellaki2446 she isn't dilated enough to be considered in active labor. Her contractions are likely very light to where she can't feel them yet. A lot of women can tolerate their contractions and often won't know that their body is progressing until they're in active labor, which isn't until 6 cm

what do you think about hibiscus tea? My friends in France that have had babies were told not to drink it by their doctors because it could induce labour.

Haha I wish I could walk into labor. The only time that actually worked for me was when I was 3 cm. I walked like 2 miles and was in full blown labor by the end of the day. Otherwise, it does nothing but make me uncomfortable. Haha
