Well they were monsters who were put through an experiment where pure determination was put into their soul which ended up distorting their faces and making them fuse with other monsters. So maybe the determination has to do something with their inability to die? After all Undyne does melt in her boss battle during the genocide route, sort of like the amalgamates, possibly because she had a lot of determination that her soul couldn’t handle?

The only other time I can remember where we see "infinite" HP is during the Asriel fight. Where your determination is so strong that you can keep fighting and go below 1 HP. This is probably one of the unstable side effects we see on the amalgamates because they can't handle determination. They always have full HP no matter what.

For most other non-killable monsters, like lost souls and Asriel, editing the game to kill them will show the death animation of Aaron and usually result in the game being soft-locked.

With how her death and her spare are the same mechanically (and intentionally, as you pointed out), and with way her fight goes as a whole, its almost like you're not bothering to console her, but just push her out of the way or force her weak self to leave by attacking, without really killing due to her being, well, unkillable. Since, well, we get nothing for killing her either. Not one EXP.

Fun fact: LV 20 is actually worse than LV 19 in dealing damage. At LV 19, you fight with 36AT and 4DF, but at LV 20, even though the stats window says you have 38AT & 4DF, both are set to 30 when you enter a battle.

I'm fairly sure that if you gain XP in a pacifist run it becomes neutral. You can kill a select few enemies that don't give XP and be fine.

@@cakecheese2895 iirc, pacifist counts your kills instead of xp, just like genocide. The reason you can kill Mettaton and still be on pacifist is because you're using a glitch to fight Mettaton after you've taken Undyne's letter, which locks you into the pacifist route. Normally, this would remove all encounters outside the true lab and the Asriel fight, but if you previously skipped Mettaton (also using glitches) you can still fight him.

Fun fact! There is actual footage of Snowdrake's mom dying made by a guy named NovemberJoy, it's in his video called "can you beat Undertale true pacifist without acting?" And what he did is down patch and after starting true pacifist with the Undyne call, kill all the monsters in the core then do the same that you did

this is important please get this to the top so he can see it. i discovered that the line "the gash weaves down as if you cry" can be seen if you go into castle town and turn off the dark world tag. you hear it from one of the jigsaw joes that replace the darkeners if you talk to them

Ah, that's because it's a placeholder for when you interact with something in a situation where the dialogue isn't properly set. So in that case I'm guessing the room number (which is in the dark world) doesn't match the world's tag (light world) so because there's no valid option it uses the default (which is "the gash weaves down" error handler).

There is another thing that I saw a youtuber do (people have probably said this already) Version 1.00 has it so the phone call from Undyne to deliver the letter to Alphys accidentally activates monster encounters in the Core while locking you onto True Pacifist, so you can get this letter, genocide the core, go to Alphys and then the True Lab, and kill Snowdrakes mom with just the Burnt Pan, Temmie Armor, and Legendary heros all while completing Pacifist

Suggestion of similar nature. Is it possible to get level 18 in undertale on the latest patch? Highest I've managed is 17 with all fully angry loox, 16 glydes, only killing knight knights in CORE except for the final encounter where I do froggit/astigmatism/whimsolot for extra EXP, followed by warrior's path for greater EXP, and taking advantage of the kill counter to get a few extra fights (Extra loox and first froggit in ruins, for example) heard there may be optimizations allowing somebody to get 17 or 18 glydes, I think it would be interesting to look into.
