Prime Tyson vs Prime Lewis would be a slugfest with a lot of close knockdowns towards the end of the fight. But I feel like Lennox would win by decision or late KO because, like you said, his ability to use his reach to his advantage. Even if they had a trilogy, Lewis would edge it out

By the time Tyson fought Lewis he was years past his prime. He was at a point in his career where he had no love for the sport and was merely fighting for money. He showed up at 234 pounds, his prime weight was between 214-218 pounds. He was out of gas after the 2nd round and was in no condition to fight. Tysons prime ended after the Spinks fight. Don King fired Kevin Rooney and replaced him with a rank amateur in Aaron Snowell. A guy who didn't know how to train Mike in the style Cus DaMato taught him and he couldn't motivate him to work hard. Tyson won't from being one of the most technically sound fighters to a one or two punch brawler. Still physically dominate enough to beat a lot of guys but no where near good enough to be the top guy. For the Lewis fans saying those are just excused, look at the huge impact Emmanuel Stewart had on Lennox Lewis and he didn't join him until late in his career. Lewis went from a good fighter to a great one. Trainers matter.

Lennox was the best heavyweight during that time and his only true losses come from him not taking Oliver McCall snd Rockman serious. But he redeemed himself like none other in both rematch bouts. I remember I picked him to defeat Evander and everyone thought I was crazy. I guess they were wrong.

Don't know if you watch/enjoy anime/manga, but there are two great boxing ones. "Hajime no Ippo" and "Megalobox." They're pretty good. Hajime is more your standard shounen. The main character you expect to succeed, but the author does a great job creating the tension between opponents, so you just don't know. Megalobox is a dark, dystopian kind of thing where the boxers wear "gear," and the main character decides he won't, and it propels him to fame. Check 'em out!

By that time in Mike's career, he had no business in the ring with Lewis(who was the best of "his" prime years ). Mike wasn't even a distant shell of what he was from when he was in "his" prime. Mike had already lost to mere journey men in the sport by then -- even brutally knocked out by Danny Williams --- And yep, you say, "Danny who?" and I say, "Yeah, (☉_☉) I hear ya!" . . . Between bankruptcy/poverty, drug addiction, mental illness, 8 kids to feed and 3 years of prison(at the peak of his prime), his deterioration was pitiful, when you think of the promise that this man had once shown, in becoming potentially the greatest heavyweight boxer of all time; even Ali was in awe of Tyson's abilities.

Tyson was always smaller and had shorter reach than Lewis - and while Lewis did get knocked out twice in his career, it was generally when he was fighting incautiously. When he fought cautious, he could (and likely would) probably win on points against any heavyweight in history. The one that would be interesting to see is Lewis vs Tyson Fury - someone who is big and fast and awkward to deal with and against whom his normal range advantage would be negated. But with Mike Tyson, Lewis could just stay behind that huge jab and huge reach advantage would be very, very hard to get past.

Wow wow look at that dropped him In the 3rd round. You are legendary. See that drain their stamina and by 3rd or 4th they’ll be primed to KO. Good job Mr. legendary on managing stamina and output. Perfectly done. You got this game in the bag. You know what you should try is the legacy mode. Where you create a boxer and you fight your way to #1 rank champion before you have to retire from to much damage. I do that mode all the time to practice catching punches because if you don’t catch the punches you’ll sometimes be damaged before getting to your first belt. Then the game automatically retires you lol. You build your boxer from zero to hero. You have to train and rest in between bouts and if you don’t rest enough sometimes you go in to the fight without full stamina bar. It’s kind of like an RPG boxing because you need to decide what stats are more important to level up with the amount of xp that you get after each fight or training session. You should try it out. Anyway great fight and commentary as always. Zach vs Slater 👍👍👍👍

I feel a prime Tyson would beat Lewis. Lewis had a suspect chin as Oliver McCall and Hasim Rahman proved. Also by the time he fought Lewis Tyson had been kayoed by Bruster Douglas, did three years in prison and been kayoed by Evander Holyfield twice. It was definitely not a prime Tyson Lewis fought but a mere shadow of what he had been.

Yes I can do it, but you have to be really patient and not waste your punches/run your stamina down too early in the match. I usually get to Lennox around Round 6, all the body shots will usually have added up by then and he can no longer defend himself from the pressure. He's pretty easy actually as long as you stay patient for those first 4-5 rounds and use plenty of head movement around those jabs. The aim is really to have Lennox wear himself out trying to jab you to death while destroying his base with body shots in the inside. Sometimes I can even knock him out early, but that requires a bit of luck.
