Great advise, as usual. Here in the U.S. even if you own your home outright, you still have to pay taxes on it. I’ve heard that in other parts of the world, property taxes do not exist, and once you pay for your property, you own it outright for life. What a concept!

Safest thing is cash is going away and digital coupons coming. That's my red line. I am mortgage (death contract) and car payment free though. Good video Lamar!

If it weren't for taxes and insane medical expenses, I wouldn't need a dollar...as long as others are open to barter and work-for-exchange. Sure, sometimes you'll get lied to, but every day we get cheated out of our money...

I very rarely use cash, but I do need money in the bank.

That is pretty much how I am. I make enough to pay what ever few expenses I have and just bank the rest for retirement or to pass on to my kids. You can save a lot when you have very few bills.

Clever demo. Bartering never worked for me, they got what they wanted and I got broken promises.

What would it cost to build your lifestyle in 2024 money? How much does it cost a person to go from an apartment to cabin on a property off the grid? Property is obscenely expensive. That must be $50-75k at this point.

You can still find off grid land for $5k an acre. About $10K for my cabin. $5k for solar and systems. Water and sewer is where it gets expensive and depends on codes.

Have you considered a gas bycicle? They are cheap to operate, cheap to maintain and can last a long time.. lithium batteries for the electric ones are more expensive

I have a 150cc motorcycle that gets over 100mpg. Ebike batteries last a long time and on average 10 years. I have looked at gas scooters and bikes but I want to get away from gas as much as possible.

You didn't mention on how to reduce spending on your female partner; most female partners will not be OK with this lifestyle or we just have to do without them?

Everyone needs to buy a fire safe and bolt it down in a place that will stay the coolest if they ever have a fire , pull all their money out of the bank except enough to keep the account open and only put enough past to pay for whatever it is that you order or to pay bills like property tax until we can eliminate that. Lean on God(Jesus) for guidance, protection, and providing you with the best deal on everything you need or want. Jesus loves all of you. Actually Lamar you could get by with the small space you have for $200 or less most months, that is if you lived here in the same dwelling you have, I don't know if you could get by with it legally or not, I don't know how much electric and natural gas costs where you live is why I say here. My place is probably twice the size of your cabin and it cost me usually between $200 and $250 nearly every month except 2 or 3 months until this new gas supplier bout the old one out.
