So, I looked it up: Crayola started adding a built-in sharpener to their 64ct boxes in *1958*. I remember the sharpeners, but I thought it wasn't a thing until the 90s. I probably had never had a box big enough to include a sharpener until then.

Crayons were suchhh a huge part of my childhood, I remember having a giant tub of them. Every so often we would take left over crayons and put them in molds to melt together to make giant star shaped crayons and heart shaped crayons, etc. I’ve recently got back into traditional art, and I really want to use crayons now, this video gave me so much inspiration!

I would HIGHLY recommended the caran d'ache crayons - i have the water soluble ones. They’re like firmer oil pastels, very pigmented and so so blendable. Crayons are so fun to use and having proper grown up ones is amazing. They cost a pretty penny but even a small set of 10 has done me well.
