So today I try to make a game on one of the first versions of unity (2.5) in windows 98 and then bring the project to the latest version (6) to see what happens. Make sure to subscribe.

regarding the sensitivity issue, it's not actually a high sensitivity. it's because your mouse doesn't get passed through correctly when using a virtual mahcine. basiclly, the mouse on your desktop works in relative mode (where when you move your mouse left, it tells the computer to move the cursor slightly to the left). your operating system then converts these to absolute coordinates (for example if your mouse says move five pixels to the left, your cursor changes from being 15 pixels from the left side of the screen to 10 pixels) then games convert that back to relative (by every frame, checking how far your cursor is from the middle of the screen, and then moving it back to the middle, so if the middle of your screen is 1000 pixels, your mouse moves 5 pixels to the left, your cursor changes to 995 pixels, and the game reads that as moving 5 pixels to the left). virtual machine & remote desktop software don't work like this because they want the cursor inside the virtual machine to be in the exact same place as the cursor on your actual machine, so they emulate a graphics tablet, which says to the computer, move the cursor to exactly 25% of the width of the screen. this means, that if you set your cursor to the middle of the screen and launch a game, as soon as you move your mouse one pixel to the left, the game sees this as moving your cursor one pixel to the left and resets the cursor to the middle of the screen, and sets the cursor inside the virtual machine, but theres no way of moving your real computer's cursor back. so as soon as you move your cursor another pixel to the left, the game sees this as moving two pixels to the left, etc etc

i can explain the mouse sensitivity thing! this is a problem with virtualbox that occurs when you tell it to auto hook the mouse, happens Exclusively with things that try to lock the mouse it's an easy fix, just means the mouse in your host machine and in the virtual machine are separate instead of flowing between each other smoothly

Using old versions of Delphi probably yes, but it is very hard to get a 3D world inside it. It should run from Windows 95 to 11 if well done, without 3rd party dependencies. 😅

Unity 3.5.x + Windows xp = best Combo Unity 4.2 (2D add) or 4.6 (UI add) + windows 7 = Best Combo Unity 2019.4.x + Windows 7 = Last Best Unity version
