It’s the only wheat I use for bread. I enjoy the earthiness in flavor, and the high protein/gluten content helps produce a toothy loaf. Makes the best sourdough baguettes ever! Enjoy your little family. They were the reason why I started baking (35+years ago). Boy does time fly!
@TheWholesomeHome11 ай бұрын
Yes! They love to mess with the dough too. I haven’t mastered sourdough. I’m working on it though!

Hello and thank you for your videos. Have you used oat flour to make bread or as an ingredient for bread making. Curious since it seems more liquid may be necessary. I have had some real failures trying to use oat flour along with whole grain/wheat flour.
@TheWholesomeHome Жыл бұрын
I have not used it in bread, I’ve used it for cookies. I wouldn’t think you would have to use more water, but you may. It has to do more with the humidity level of your home.

Thank you for doing these comparison videos very interesting. I do like the taste of the red heart wheat I find out the hard white wheat is so bland. What about red hard wheat with soft, white wheat, or with Kamut. I’m trying to get my husband on board so I would like to find a combination that’s not so heavy and dense. Something that’s light airy and soft. Thank you these are very helpful.

Thanks for the video. Do you have the written recipe? For some reason my bread won't rise . Thanks

It should be in the description. Let me make sure it is. Are you using a bread machine? Or are you doing it by hand?

@TheWholesomeHome Жыл бұрын
Ah. Okay. It could be any multiple of things. How old is your yeast? Is it instant? What is the temperature and humidity of your home? All these can effect rise.

Where do I find the actual recipe and instructions? I am new to bread making.
@TheWholesomeHome Жыл бұрын
The recipe is in the description, for ingredients. If you are using a bread machine, I have another video that shows my settings here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kHytcpR_f7yFfZI Start with your wet ingredients into your bread machine pan (or bowl, if you are doing it by hand.) Bread machine you’ll want to use the settings in the video. By hand, you’ll mix the ingredients together, and let it sit for about 20 minutes. Then knead. Let it rise the first rise, then punch down, separate into 2 1# loaves or 1 2# loaf. Rise again. Bake at 350*F for 30 minutes or until internal temperature of the bread reaches 190*F

My dad raised bees almost my whole life. Aside from a few years where he didn’t because a neighbor was highly allergic and his chemo. His honey was a bright honeysuckle honey was was delicious. I used it once to make bread, and it was gone in a day. I now protect that honey since he passed away. 💔 I am working on your video for maple and the 1 pound loaf. I only have the Sam’s Club Organic Maple. Do you have any suggestions on a good one to use?
