So many laughs when Gracie is around! This definitely wasn't the song I expected you guys to do but you definitely put your own spin on it and did an awesome job, nicely done! :)

More people make money playing cover songs than people do playing their original music.

Let me say that "You find your sound when you fail to sound like someone else." just may be one of the wisest and motivating things I've heard on here. Makes a whole lot of sense

This might be the funniest Sean Daniel video to date. Come for the musical education, stay for the comedy.

Wow! For a fake pianist you killed that Sean. Perfect accompaniment. And the bravery and execution to sing with solo piano, goosebumps Gracie. Honestly didn’t know you had that in you. Amazing.

So, if you join distrokid you can record cover songs and monetize them without worrying about copyrights??

Interesting views. Disturbed did a cover of the sound of silence and that really brought their band to a light

So I busk every day, 3 to 6 hours. I have 3 or 4 'covers' that I comp to, which does raise attention. I move right into one of my standard tunes and play them until traffic seems to drop off. I always play popular bumper tunes when I take a break, often sitting down and comping the last few measures and then start my next set. On days when I go over 4 hours (depending on traffic/weather etc.), I will probably work in three breaks, about 5 min each. Question: If I play (or record) to a backing track, say from Quist, does the composer of the backing track own it, or do I own only the motifs/melodies I create? Thanks to the exceptional teachings of sages like Sean here, Jens Larsen and Jake Lizzio, I am becoming an accomplished guitarist. Of course, practice and daily performances are key in developing skill, I have only studied theory for about 3 years now. Applying the knowledge makes understanding theory easier. The improvements in my guitar work is certainly being noticed. I am gaining a considerable fan base after 11 months of daily busking. ii V I is everywhere, and Klondike Kat always gets his mouse!

Currently in two original music bands and we've discussed if one if them has to stop then some of the others will do a cover band for money to fund the other band. Decent money for something you love doing

The thing is to take a cover like "living on Tulsa Time" and mangle it so now it's "Living on Toast and Wine." Then people say "Do the toast and wine song."

the greatest cover band in the world “mr. greengenes” had multiple record deal offers. They knew that there was too much risk in giving up the “cover money.” And the 90’s band had to face the inevitable; NAPSTER! Metallica resisted, but those who stuck to their covers 2000’s sing along covers made millions from 1995 through the present.
