Ali, I appreciate all of the videos (yours and others) instructing us on segments of the swing and the nuances of the swing based on which club being used. What I have never seen is a video explaining, in detail, all of the aspects (feet, legs, hips, back, shoulders, arms, wrists, grip...am I missing something?) of a good strike looks like at impact. All videos seem to explain how to get there from nowhere but never what it looks like first and then explain how each aspect needs to take place to get to impact. I hope what I am saying makes sense.

It seems you need to get the right shoulder under more to get the lag you are trying for.

Interesting. Your launch angle is around 17 degrees with a seven iron, which is very good at your normal swing, very close to a PGA pro, which I would have thought the club face is closed at impact, and when you hit it clean, you get good distance. So why change what you have. When I can get the launch angle on a seven Iron the same as you it not only gives me more distance, I feel the ball is hitting the middle of the club, it feels great, which is what I believe this is aimed at. If you video your swing face on, you will see if you are getting shaft lean. It’s mind boggling. I’m intrigued how your normal swing looks like at impact. Please try it and upload it to us.

Yet Tiger barely took a divot with his irons generally. So many more wrist injuries in elite players with this over-compression technique too. Add in that new irons are tending to be much stronger lofts than they were, turning an old 7 iron into 5 iron loft at address and then into a 4 or 3 iron at impact as these videos would have you do.

It seems you need a golf coach too. Its videos like these that are causing a lot of confusion to others rather than helping. I haven't heard or read that the only way to hit the ball is through an extended (or flexed) wrist. And I doubt that all pros have the same way of hitting the ball. Its still just about being consistent with your swing plane, proper club face, proper timing and eye/body coordination. Every golfer is different so its all about finding what works for you. By the way, your numbers seems to be working for you when your wrist is on flexed at downpoint. You can hit better that way. So this video is just rubbish and misleading. Go with what works for you.
