At which swing speed do you consider increasing loft?
@JohnnyDSR4 жыл бұрын
Nice demo. I game the 10.5 plus but weight draw and at 12D. That combo really helps with over fading. I sometimes wonder how it would perform against the G410 SFT with a swing weight of D1 as opposed to D3 in the plus. I agree on your point of consistency. Moving up in loft however your dispersion number looked better at 9 degree on average at +/-4 carry. At lease front to back.Could not see left to right dispersion. The human factor is hard to control in such tests but clearly you can indeed see the difference in carry as a function of launch angle. So often it's a game of carry vs consistent dispersion. Stay safe during the VID!

Really helpful information! I'm going to head to the top tracer and try some different loft settings out. I never touch the settings, just keep it 10.5 and neutral, but thought maybe dropping it down half a degree may help reduce my launch and spin which can be quite high.
@rogerschock13893 жыл бұрын
I have a Callaway maverick and I tried the 10.5 than switched it to the 12.5 than down to the 9.5 and finally did the 11.5 and neutral and I am hitting the ball 25 yards further on the 11.5 loft than any other of the lofts on my maverick

@@rogerschock1389 had the same experience with my with speedzone. Tried it all and jacked it up 1 to 11.5 and hitting it better and straighter. I wonder if a 9* head jacked up to 10 would have similar results.

Hi Ali, i play off 7 and when i adjusted my TM Driver from 9.5 deg to 11.5 deg i started to over draw every shot.I tried this setting on a higher tee and the ball was not able to be controlled, ie, huge hooks.I then rest the club to 9.5 Deg and decreased the tee height to 1 half of the ball above the top of the driver. Result, much better contact and accuracy.I then decreased the ball height further and low slight fade shots were easy to play, with no loss of distance due to firm fairways. I think this idea of hitting up on the ball is over rated, as it does not increase accuracy, but rather encourages off balanced shots and all sorts of muscle strains.I have experienced injuries trying to hit up on a ball that was teed up higher than the top of my driver.My average driving distance now, when balanced and using my own swing is 250 Meters plus. Thanks for this vid , it was great.
@jwatson1814 жыл бұрын
For maximum distance, you have to hit up on the ball. With that said, if it is working there is no need for you to fix it.

Ali - would be interesting to see your take on shaft weights - some now around 50-55 grms - which will effect swing speed and therefore club he’d speed and delivery - could you look at that? Hard to get into shaft profile etc but defo swing weight especially as most retail clubs are going higher loft and light shafts thanks

Hi Ali ,thanks for the video. Have some questions, the F9 9*, if you change setting to 8* the face will get more open at address, and if set to10* face would look closed? But,if you do same things I just mentioned with Ping G410 9*, the 8* & 10* settings will look square because of the new Ping adapter? In other words, the new Ping adapter allows you to change loft and remain square?

I can guarantee that I am, I tried lofting down my driver because I was hitting it well but felt I was losing rollout. Lofted it down from 10.5° to 9.5° then back to 10°. At the lower lofts the face just felt dead and I wasn't hitting it well. Back up to 10.5° and I'm smashing it.

Very informative and well explained. I did notice your swing speed dropped 2mph on the 12° , any reason for that ? I'm hitting the G400 at 10.5 and its killing me. Way too much spin based in my delivery and club head speed (108). I'm total distance at 260-270. In comparison to my old R15 @ 10.5 I was total at 280-285... Subscribed!

Great vid, question I’ve been struggling with. I know custom fit is always the answer but as a high handicapper with a fade/slice what are your thoughts on the following. Desperately want a Ping g410 driver in my bag but don’t want to be locked into the SFT draw driver. With slow swing speed could I go with a 9’ G410 plus but loft it up to close face. Then if I ever work on my game and path I could always de loft back to 9’. I’m just worried about getting a 10.5 but having to lift it up to 12.5 to help with the fade.

Hello Ali. My club head speed is approx 130mph but I can't get the ball in the air. I think it is because I am using iron swing with driver therefore it is a overly steep attack angle with my 9.5 degree driver. What is the highest degree lifted driver on the market so I can counteract this problem?

Just ordered a ping g410 after getting fitted, been ordered in a 12 deg as I was hitting it further, straighter and more consistently than the 10.5. Currently using a G400 at 10 deg but adjusted to 11, every swing will differ, for me it was about the numbers on the results not the deg of the driver feeding an ego, have used 12 deg in the past and the amount of people have commented on the loft is ridiculous.

I have always struggled with a slice with my driver. Last Saturday (first round after lock-down) I sliced it horribly. Today at the range I cranked my loft up to 12.5 degrees on my Callaway Rogue and pulled the ball back a little in my stance. Upping the loft also turns the toe in helping me square the face. It helped a lot. Hopefully when I play tomorrow I can keep the ball in play off the tee more than Saturday.

I am finding with the newer drivers, many having the CG further back, the lower lofted settings work better. I have the same Ping G410 plus you used but in 9 degrees standard and a late model Srixon. The Ping is set at 8 degrees and the Srixon 9.5. I had to deloft the Ping because the standard 9 degree loft was going a bit high and with too much spin. This was not the case with my previous Ping G30 LST 10.5 degree driver and its more forward CG. The Srixon is a low spin driver and the standard 9.5 loft works well.

Was using a 14.5° loft and only hitting 180-190yards with a HARD slice. Swapped to 9.5° and, using the same swing, shot up to between 270-280yards with far more accuracy. Gonna experiment with 10.5° to try to find a nice middle ground for my swing. Edit: I am a beginner in my first year of consistent practice and playing golf. These adjustments are soooo crucial, imo

you don't; pay attention to spin-loft. Swinging easier with driver often produces longer drives because spin comes down for most players; most players, when they swing faster (harder usually but brain tells you that the swing is much faster when in reality it really is negligible), so, when they swing "faster" with driver add a ton of spin to the ball which kills the distance.
