Bangkok Thailand is a great place to visit. I visited there a few years ago and loved the city, but the people are what made it for me. The street food is a must!

would be hilarious to do this in Houston, which has been mentioned as one of the worst cities when it comes to navigating around without a car

Come to Buffalo NY so you can complete your chicken wing quest! You have to visit the Original Anchor Bar where Teressa Bellissimo created Buffalo Wings in 1963, as well as other local spots such as Bar-Bill Tavern, Duff's, Wing Nutz, and La Nova Pizza. Trust me, the best wings in the world are here in Buffalo. Plus you can stop by Niagara Falls and catch a Bills game while you're in town, and even visit Toronto and do a whole different video on the most diverse city in the world!

We kind of take for granted just how much easier it is to navigate now with a GPS in our pockets. To people who travelled the world before the GPS era, I salute you guys.

Meh, I feel there used to be more signs and maps posted around. It's really not that hard when you're used to it. Just take a landmark or whatever you recognise and find it on the map. Or.. Just ask someone for directions.
@GreenBlueWalkthroughАй бұрын
I mean I still don't understand as a zlinnal how gen Z are able to soley use GPS and no other land navigation skill and never not run into any issues... Like I was trying to find a Good will a few months ago and Bing maps(Trust me Google maps had no shoot) Completely lied to me being a mile off in a newish town center! Like their was no way a good will would have been in the tiny mmassage place Bing said it was! Much less the fact that Good will never moved and is older then the town center the GPS pointed to! Which this was in Jax florida and I have never seen GPS mess up that badly before!

It was actually a lot of fun back then. I drove all over the country in the 90's by myself, just with maps, and it was like hunting for treasure! The only times it got hard was if you were in an area with no street names or navigating through a really busy, large city. You had to really know what turn you were looking for in advance because you couldn't whip out a huge map while doing 75 on a busy interstate. Lol. I got myself lost a few times, but it always turned out to be an adventure! Honestly, I still recommend it!

I went to London from the US and I was surprised at how well I was able to get around with Google Maps. Even when turn by turn directions were weird, having a map to the world in my pocket was so helpful

Certified awesome video from this New Yorker! I love seeing you highlighting some of the more local spots in NYC. There is so much more to this great city than times square and central park and the touristy destinations. All of the little enclaves and neighborhoods all have unique personalities and are really fun to explore. Great video!

If you want a more detailed map for free, ask for the MTA _Bus_ maps. There's one for every borough, and you can get it from the same booth you got the Subway map. Most stations will have only the borough you're in, but big stations will have all 5 boroughs.

My first trip to NYC was before smart phones (and my first cell phone). I could easily live off a map and tour guide books. Harder for me was figuring out how to drive Boston with a road map (as there's a lack of signs as to road names and when they merge into other roads). For that situation, I find phone GPS so invaluable.

Tip from a New Yorker: for the last challenge to get to the Bronx, you could have taken the M60 Select Bus service since it stops at Astoria Blvd, and take it to Lexington avenue and 125th street, where you’ll find the same train(the 4 train) that has the stop closest to Yankee Stadium. Besides that this was an amazing video! Your knowledge of NYC transit is already great from this video alone.

I did it in 2008 with just a flip phone, a Zune, a subway map, metro card, and $100 to last a week. Even saw the Daily show. NYC is one of the easiest places to get around. The whole thing is is a grid, the E/W streets in Manhattan are numbered in order going S to N. and easily accessible public transit.
@BasicYTHandle5 күн бұрын
Then living in North Jersey, I made a few forays into The City during high school years. Public transit confused me, so I walked EVERYWHERE (I was a LOT younger then).
