I had a credit card that came with a year membership to a program called priority pass it includes a ton of lounges worldwide and I got 4 entrances for the year and could get extras at $30 each if I needed. Definitely look into if you have a card that offers that! (It was tucked away on the travel part of the rewards site and I had to choose to enroll)

As someone who is Montreal based and goes to the USA maple leaf lounge every other week, you're lucky you didn't pay for access there. Pretty much all the lounges in the transborder area pretty much suck. The international ones are pretty good though.

Chase's United Explorer card gives you 2 United lounge passes per year. The card fee is about $95 a year and provides 2 free checked bags when flying United. We live near an United hub and fly with them almost exclusively due to the cheaper ticket prices.

venture x card has lounges (not a lot though - i live in one of the cities that does) and the annual fee is $395 but u get $300 travel credit and 10,000 miles ($100) anniversary bonus every year. so it’s basically free.

Parts of it look like Florida. Oh, and Australians need to forgive North Americans (and Irish and Scottish folks), but our English is rhotic (usually) and we pronounce the final "R". Don't expect us to get a place name like Cairns or Melbourne right the first time without coaching.

When I think of Outback Steakhouse, my mind goes to one time when I was a kid, my family went to Applebee's because my unhinged cousin recently got hired as a waiter. The Applebee's was located in one of those big ugly American strip malls with like every chain restaurant. We were looking at the menu and asked my cousin what we should get since we had never been there before, and he responds "Outback". This was well over 15 years ago and I don't know why I still think it's funny 🥴

Bundaberg Ginger Beer can be purchased all over the place in the US. And it is pretty similar to other ginger beers from my experience. Ginger ale has almost no ginger in it, sometimes none depending on the brand i think. My favorite ginger beer is fever tree mainly because it is the easiest to get in various sizes whereas bundaberg and goslings are pretty much always in the same size container.

If you fly a lot and your airport has an amex lounge or just a club lounge, then get the AMEX Platinum. If you don't fly much, then please don't, not worth the yearly fee. Most lounges do have free drinks as well, which is amazing when you're there 2-3 hours before you flight and looking to get a little tipsy to sleep on the plane.
