Good cars apart from rear fuel pump will fail about 3 times a year , vcu in the prop will seize up. Front fuel pump will leak , drop links will knock even when new , rear door handle will stop working. Rear win down will stop going up n down , diff mounts will fail and to finish it off turbo seals will fail and the car will run on its own oil until it completely does the motor in . yes yes all this did happen to mine in 12 months of owning it. Apart from that class cars

My rear door handle fell off 😂 apart from that I experienced pretty much everything you mentioned. But what was really annoying was a bad connection on the fuel rail pressure sensor that took forever to find.,

Get an old burger van to hook up to the land rover , then you can turn Norton’s emporium of mysterious and wonderful trinkets , into a mobile shop. Then you can sponsor yourselves and cut out the middle man.

Absolutely fucking Loved this episode guys. Having driven some right old bangers in my time, including my mates Micra that was often started by smacking the starter motor with a hammer, I think you did Extremely well with this. The higher clearance was certainly of great help with this. When you said about how Norton looked i really laughed 😂 Loved Als face when he took the wheel too ❤ It's one hell of a vehicle, the versatile design, I'm right impressed! I miss driving, had to give up my licence on medical grounds twenty years ago. I was a weird teenager, used to drive the moors late at night by myself, and as a female that was bloody unusual. My late father was convinced I was out meeting blokes, but I was just driving around the moors and loved Every second of it. I was having the time of my life then, and this was fucking fabulous watching you all just thoroughly enjoying this ❤

Brownhill! Brilliant, used to ride MX’s up there, brilliant fun. They’ve levelled it off a lot now and also people have been getting moved on a lot recently due to a large influx of boring c*nts on pushbikes….. And yeaaahhhh, fuel leakage issues are pretty much always fine….. the petrol tank level on mine depended on which way you were turning and at what speed or whether you were going uphill or downhill…. What a proper car though, right beast, it would have pissed it going back up that hill.

cont go wrong with a freelander, just make sure its still got the front propshaft lol. Also little tip, when going up hills etc, just floor it, the car will work it out.

I was thinking that. Also confused when they mentioned putting it in 4x4 as pretty sure all freelancers are constant 4x4, hence why it's so common to remove the front propshaft

They have some kind of system where it will only go into 4WD when it detects wheel spin, which is why it's important not to put mud tyres on them, a decent set of all terrains will perform better because the system relies on traction loss/wheelspin to engage 4WD. But yeah none of that will happen if the prop has been removed 😂 also hill descent control is good on these.

I think an off-grid camper conversion would be quite interesting. Space might be a bit tight. Otherwise how about a mountain-bike vs 4x4 Green lane race? Or 4x4 vs mountain bike vs fell-runner race? Stuff like that. If you really want to go all out 'Top Gear' you could make it amphibious.... :P

I was foolishly given the keys to a 20 year old Discovery and we did some epic off-roading on Exmoor at 3am. All legal roadways n that. No grumpy mountain bikers out at that time of day. It was cool as fuck, couldn't see shit so we just went for it. They rust as soon as you look at them but Landies aren't half bad when they're actually off road. My unsolicited advice is make sure you powerwash the undercarriage every time you finish using it. Will save you ££££ in the long run.

you want a spare tyre lads ask around some scrapyards and you should be able to get one for cheap given how old that model is. Get stuck up on the hills with a flat and the recovery will be several times the amount you paid for the car lol
