On #36, the technical term would be a thrombus. It isn’t considered an embolism until it breaks free and becomes mobile. 😊 I loved the quiz, it was fun!
@mirthevandenbossche72812 жыл бұрын
okay thanks, i was confused because I also learned it was called as an thrombus
@geekasauruswreks8789 Жыл бұрын
Not to be that person that corrects a correction, but... A thrombus, more often a piece of a thrombus, can become an embolism. More specifically referred to as a thromboembolism. The question didn't say how the blockage occurred. If it formed in the artery and didn't move, then it would be a thrombus. If it, or a piece of it, broke off and traveled through the blood stream it's a thromboembolism, which is a type of embolism. The answer, and question, could have been more specific, but it isn't wrong and I don't think this quiz was developed with medical professionals in mind. I know what answer I'd pick if I were sitting for licensing again. 🙂

Hi. Thanks for supporting my channel. I really appreciate it. I would love to make shorter videos, as these take forever to make. But KZbin doesn't like it when I make shorter videos. I tried a 10 question one once, and it remains one of my least viewed videos. Even the 25 question ones that were around 8 minutes long don't get half the views of the longer videos. When they go over 11 minutes KZbin recommends them to a much larger audience. Therefore that's how long I make them. I have just uploaded a MEGA quiz that goes live this Friday. It's a 100 question, 26 minute beast! So if you prefer the shorter ones, you might want to save that one until a time when you can't think of anything else to do for a while😁😂. It is a compilation of my favourite questions from my first 50 videos, so you may have already seen many of them. It is an experiment, just to see how KZbin and my subscribers react to a much longer video. Anyway, thanks for watching.

@@CottageontheCorner There is a reason that I believe the old expression is true: "Necessity is the mother of learning." In other words, you learned so much because you had to. Obviously I would assume it's genetic if that's the case. No, I am not familiar with the condition. I often remind my students that I didn't go to medical school, after all. Good quiz just one objection to a sort of trick question where the placenta was the answer named as the only disposable organ. We have BEFORE we are born it’s also combination of the maternal cells and fetal cells serving both mother and foetus. It could be argued that the appendix could have been the answer 👍🏽😊
@Quizzes4U2 жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for joining the conversation. It's not a trick question. It's people's misunderstanding of the word disposable. An appendix may not be necessary to life but it doesn't fit the description of disposable, it can only exit the body by surgery and a new one won't grow if needed. Only the placenta meets the dictionary definition of disposable, which is 'intended to be thrown away after use'. Only the placenta is intended to be disposable. There are other organs such as the gallbladder that we can live without, not just the appendix. Just because we can live without them doesn't make them disposable. It wasn't meant to be a trick question. I hope that helps explain. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@ellendolber27652 жыл бұрын
Appendix yes, and you can live without a spleen also..... but placenta, didn't like the trick question.
@caroljean1612 жыл бұрын
@@Quizzes4U thanks for your reply. I still contest that intentional or not it was a trick question😇 the placenta is not an organ like the rest of our organs and in that sense it isn't a straightforward question. Its made up of fetal and maternal cells
@Quizzes4U2 жыл бұрын
You can also live without a gallbladder. With only one lung or one kidney. But it wasn't a trick question as the question wasn't which organ can you live without or have removed by surgery. It was which is the only disposable organ. The definition of disposable is "intended to be thrown away after use". Only the placenta fits this. None of the others are intended to be thrown away after use.
@melissadunton35342 жыл бұрын
@@Quizzes4U what about an organ that is thrown away after use on a daily basis and replaces itself? Does that fit the definition? If so, skin would also be disposable. I’m seriously asking as we do not die with the same skin we are born with...?

Got all 40, but ive been an RN for 20yr, so thats maybe cheating. On the photoreceptor question, technically the retina IS part of the brain, so either brain or retina are acceptable answers

But is it though?

@@deirdremcallister893 Super old comment...but indeed the retina is considered brain tissue. The reason is because embryologically, the retina is formed from the same neural tube as the brain.

I missed 10 but considering how long it’s been since I was in School & Biology Class, I would say that’s pretty good. My teacher would probably be thrilled if he was still alive, it was not my best subject. ☺️👍🏻
