Great video! Have you been able to prove any of these out?

yeah you can def see the Het Monsoons. they have those small circles on the dorsal, especially by their neck and have just a crazy patter.

Awesome video and snakes as usual bro 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💪🏽

I strongly believe monsoon is an incomplete dominant trait, not a recessive. Your snakes are gorgeous btw 😁

Is the one at 3:30 from MC line? Looks to have markers of their "Weirdo"/het tri stripe. The chaining down the neck. Very good video about the monsoon. Thanks for that :)

I picked up what was just being sold as a Special. "Crown" head stamp, some pixels going to the neck, popcorning belly, dots in dorsal pattern, pinching off at the base of the alien heads with some merging together, some of the alien heads/eyes being pulled up towards/into the dorsal. I checked out your previous video, Billy & Austin's videos and Dave Greens MorphMarket for references. Fingers crossed 😁

I strongly believe monsoon to be inc-dom and not recessive (same with some other "recessive" genes and possibly pied). Recessive genes just don't show as hets, that's not how they work. Their expressions are going to vary and sometimes you won't be able to ID them. Just like subtle genes such as YB and fire complex at times. For the specials, I think 1 and 2 will prove, possibly 3 and not 4. I think the Mojave with the headstamp and the YB will prove as well

if you cant identify single genes i consider them hets, you are right by the book, if they show something they are incomplete dominant, but in this case the difference between codom and recesive is semantic, and if you cant pick them out are recesives de facto.

@@albertocampos4666 There are het monsoons that are very obviously not normals and some that aren't obvious. There are yellowbellies that are very obviously not normals and some that aren't. Why is one concidered recessive and the other inc-dom?
@albertocampos46663 жыл бұрын
@@Icefrostcat hahah you are correct, some yellow bellys are difficult but you can identify yellow belly, can you identify het monsoon ? if somebody can identify the with the same acuracy than yellow belly i would consider the gene incomplete dominant.het pied could be a similar case i have has poss het pied with clear markers that werent, and i cant tell for sure so i consider pied recesive too.look at it this way if you are not confident enough to sell it as 100 percent to me it is recesive.i tell you though you are right by the book.great conversation

@@albertocampos4666 Actually I think I do a pretty decent job. I'm still learning though. My friend on the other hand is really good at IDing them. He works heavily with it and is the one who told mutation creation to pair two specific animals together to get monsoon. Once you know what you're looking for it's pretty obvious most of the time. And for pied, there's more markers that just tracks. Look at cinnamon vs cinny het pied. The same thing happens with black pastel. Sometimes even BEL complex but more often when leopard is involved. Great conversation indeed! I love talking genetics
