I had a 1981 CM200T back in 1986 it had only done 10,000 miles i picked it up for £100 one of the best cheep bikes i ever had..stay safe..VIC..

The monkey bars and that seat particularly are a hurting on the eyes. Can you turn this into a classic cafe' and bin all the "custom" ugly.

They are awful, the bad thing is I think it came with the silly bars and biggest seat known to man. This damn this has been the most fun. I probably have $30 and 4 hours in it.

It's getting better for sure. Id sand down the tank to bare metal and then polish it... maybe throw some clear coat over it.

A new head gasket and carb kit with a bench set may be needed. Those detergents dry out the seals.

Thanks for the editing compliment. It really is that easy. I only edit the repetitive parts. you can only watch some guy scrubbing wheels with a brass brush for so long 😂. I’m sure it will be going up for sale. Where are you located?

for the surface rust i ball up some aluminum foil and metal polish, Doesnt scratch while it cleans

Where did you buy the rear tire. I have had a hard time finding that size.

I already had the rear tire in the attic(brand new). Not sure where I got it from got the front on eBay. Front and rear are Duro tires. Thanks for the help I am going to order tires . Now where can I find a good 6 volt coil. Mine works but is cracked. Also my son has a 1975 xl175 that fowls plugs like crazy he is a 6volt system also. Thinking it’s the coil but can only find cheap Chinese coils.
