I’d love to build a tiny camper incapsulated in solar panels. A bank of batteries would charge while enjoying the ride! Probably wouldn’t have endless range though. Lol

Good stuff! I had this idea but with the thin flexible (light weight panels) like your idea as a trailer train behind the bike... still just as impractical though no doubt.

You might use a small solar panel to change up a super capacitor that constantly feeds a battery. The solar panel charges the capacitor and the capacitor charges the battery. Caps charge quick, batteries charge slow, so fast charge a cap, that delivers the slower charge to the battery.

You need flexible thin solar panels you can make a sun shade canopy with. Like the sun chaser solar car 👍

Super capacitors for car stereo use gives power hungry base (which is intermittent ) power for about a few minutes , they same would be true for electric bike excelleration needs. Super capacitors are like turbo boost for electric bikes and solar too.

I'd say it's the industry to blame in here as the solar panels aren't that effective yet. They need to work harder =) Or maybe it's on purpose because others need to make money.. Either way, I love to see people like you testing the possibilities. It's the first time I see somebody trying out and not just say wouldn't be possible.

Why not make a sort of ball-and-socket mount for the middle of the panel, and tilt it for the best angle to catch the sun? Change the tilt to the opposite angle for the return trip.

All you need is a single wide trailer. Also charging the battery would be a help. You are not going to be travelling all the time.

You need a charge controller. Wire the solar output to your charge controller. Then from the charge controller output to your battery. From battery output to your ebike controller.

If you want a new vid idear get an old poly crystel blue solar panel the same watts as a dc motor but a few volts higher . I pump water at full power from a 80w panel at 16 to 18vdc direct drive the mini china diapharam pump 70 watts up 10meters vv easy .. 👍👍👍

If u match the panel watts with the load motor wattts and u use a mini multi cell mono crytl or a blue poly crytl panel u can do it vv easy .. i tryed adding supper caps bank in paralell but it drops the V.
