The english in Portugal is taught much more than in Brazil. Here we start learning english at 5/6 years old but until we've finished school we are not even close to fluent in english. Most people have to take english classes on courses and/or watch movies in english. I have been really good at english lately specialy compared to the people around me, like my parents and friends. I think it's pretty nice that Portugal has a lot more studying and using of the english.

I’ve learned French since I was 4 (as a brit) and barely know anything (I learnt it for 10 years before quitting) and neither does anyone else I know who went through the same education as me - I think the main issue is that we don’t get exposed to any French media since most things are already in English, so nothing we get taught in class ever stuck - the opposite as seen here in Portugal where they were taught English from the same age we were taught French, but they were just much more exposed to it so know it well!

I'm an Arab and my nightmare concerning the English language is "phrasal verbs" : i can guess the meaning of "sit down" , "stand up" but seriously "pull over " is very hard to guess if English is not your native language ?!! 🤔 (Maybe you can help us with "phrasal verbs in a different video sir) The second difficult thing for me is the perfect mode " present perfect" the meaning of "perfect " at the time line is a little bit difficult because in Arabic and in many other Eastern languages we just have : one present, one past and one future ...to express the other modes (simple, continuous, perfect) you have to add just some details . 😭 (Edit : sorry if my English is terrible).
