That's quite the going to town Rig ya have there Man !!!!! Dig your set up under the power barn. Is that a 355 or possibly a stroker ? Any ways, I'm at the beginning of a similar build, and I'm changing on the rear main today. Thank for this video an your time in making it......

Hey im very sorry for not seeing your comment. So im running a Dart Block 400 bored 30 over to a 406. But hope your build is coming along great! Make a video of it and post a link! I'd love to see it!
@darrellsomers5427 Жыл бұрын
Yes if the bore is good you can rebuild that whole engine without removing it ,crank replacement too

So you removed the flex plate, and bell housing? I know its a stupid question. But i have to do this to my 72, lemans. Has a chevy 383 in it, with a moroso pan. Wondering if i have the windage tray. Thanks for the widows you have they have been helping me alot!
@jessemendoza29918 ай бұрын
Also what oil pan gasket and main seal do you recommend? Thanks
@EddiesCustomsandRestorations8 ай бұрын
@@jessemendoza2991 flex plate stays on engine but remove the 3 torque converter bolts that hold it to the flex plate, and the bell housing bolts. As for the main seal and pan seal, cork gaskets work great but they are very easy to break if you over torque. Fel pro gaskets is what I used. I wish I had part numbers but i dont....im very sorry...but yea I just picked up those gaskets at my local oreillys

Thanks for the video, did it fix the leak? Could you tell why the old seal was causing it to leak?
@EddiesCustomsandRestorations Жыл бұрын
It did fix the leak. The seal was the wrong seal in my case.

@@EddiesCustomsandRestorations I've just rebuilt a 327, fired up, rear seal leaking, so I'm going to have to do what you did w engine in car, mine is the 2 pc seal also, I thought these were pretty standard...I put the blue silicon seal in my felpro gasket set in, how'd you have the wrong seal? What other ones are available for a 2 pc application?... thanks.
@bambamrf Жыл бұрын
Just curious if there's another seal I should've put in instead of the one that I did put in, that's leaking.

Great video, I just subscribed. I have a 65 chevy c10. 350 engine with mild cam and headers. I already tuned engine but when trying to adjust edelbrock carb the very best I can do is 14mm of mercury when doing vaccum on intake manifold. My gas mileage sucks. Any suggestions?

Thank you!! And very nice!! Love them ol chevys! And Unfortunately carbureted is never fuel economical....but how bad is your MPG?
@nursecuenca Жыл бұрын
@@EddiesCustomsandRestorations it's running at 13 mpg
@EddiesCustomsandRestorations Жыл бұрын
@@nursecuenca oh thats about typical actually. We're you getting better before? Mild cam doesn't help MPG by the way..my 2015 Camaro with the 6.2L V8 averages 16mpg so 13 isn't too bad lol not to mention, the chevelle gets around 9 or 10

Love the '70 and thank you for a great video, I need to do pan gasket on bbc 1969 chevelle, I've been dreading it. Please replace that glass fuel filter, as Derek from VGG says, "those filters start more fires than ex-wives"
@EddiesCustomsandRestorations Жыл бұрын
Thank you! And i hear you! I didnt wanna do mine neither but it was day 2 of covid and i didnt wanna touch clients cars so I decided to do the rear main on my car Lol. As for the filters, only reason it would ever start a fire is if it were to ever leak from the ends. They are great filters and although glass, they are not fragile as one would think. But gotta love derek from VGG lol
