My golf r is having some issues code P0507 came up and I’m replacing the pcv valve but i don’t know if that will be a permanent fix any tips?

Check for a vacuum leak at the brake booster hoses, rear main seal leaking can cause vacuum leak as well.

So you can with pulling the engine hehe. I was thinking of doing the same to an older 1.6 MPI engine as the head is good and I think I only have a clogged ring. will also slap it back together with old bearings if they are good. What do I need to replace? Rear main seal and oil pan gasket instead of head gasket, head bolts.. Potentially exhaust gaskets etc.

Hey man good vid. I have s '78 FJ43 landcruiser. My mechanic rebuilt the top end, but tragically passed away ... cancer. I know he had the crank out because I saw it on the shop room floor. BUT - I don't know if he cleaned it up. After the rebuild I heard a knock at higher RPMs. Intermittent. I found metal in the oil and found a spun bearing. Changed 'em all out - simple job on this straight six, but still have the knock. Amy ideas?

@kevinrbarker sorry to hear about mechanic, my condolences. So when a bearing spun it usually distorts or destroys the crankshaft journal and or the connecting rod as well. If you replace just the bearings but the crankshaft and or the connecting rod oil bearing clearances are too large you will have the problem you’re experiencing and they would need to be replaced.
