If running on solar only and the unit shuts off due to not enough solar energy, does the unit have to be turned back on with the remote or will it come on when enough solar energy is present. My scenario would be that I am not present at the location so I want to be sure it continues to run without any intervention provided enough solar energy is present.

I have a question...how large of a battery bank do you think you would need to efficiently run this overnight? As well, any input on how large a solar array needed to charge batteries in addition to running AC during the day? Something im learning about small scale solar (the hard way) is needing a large battery bank but also needing a large enough solar array to not only run items during the day but recharge what was used overnight, effectively needing to double a solar array.

I have lots of electrical knowledge but am slowly but surely finding out things i had not considered about solar as they trickle in and become problematic. Its great to see someone putting these things through some real world testing. I would love to know how your mini split did on nothing but solar/battery over the course of a week or so. A setup like yours is a great consideration of mine but Texas summers are long and brutal.
