Off-Grid Mini-Split! Installing The Ecosolaris Solar AC

Part 2: Installing the Ecosolaris solar hybrid heat pump in my garage. I took this install a bit beyond the average DIY install by shortening the lineset but you can install this solar AC kit with only a few special tools you can find on Amazon.

Thanks Jeff! It's the same as the EG4 first generation, a little less DIY than the pre charged inset version but still pretty easy. I complicated things making the lines shorter but that's not necessary.

Dang you rain lol!! You are going to have to mention the weird lineset dia to Ecosolaris, as a HVAC tech you made quick work of that, but for Joe Homeowner DIY a mini disaster... Looking forward to a dry day test !!

The linesets are pretty clearly labelled, It was my own fault for not reading them! I don't expect too many people would attempt to shorten their lineset but it is definitely worth noting. Thanks for watching, Rob!

Yes! yes! 48V next month. Can't wait. We emailed Ecosolaris and are buying it (with 48V booster) instead of EG4. Battery and solar without inverter cost and minimal conversion losses! Woohooo

Yes you could, I've seen them on vans and RVs!

Signature Solar sells the EG4 12000BTU solar mini- split for $1300 and InvertersRUS sells the Ecosolaris 12000BTU mini-split for $1600. Does anyone know of a reason for the $300 difference?

It's a brand new product, and Ecosolaris is a much smaller company than EG4. Im sure they don't have the volume EG4 does. The price could change with time.
