Grant's performance was incredible! Can't believe he did the wall climb in a straight jacket hahah
@Muck0063 жыл бұрын
The "water challenge" is harder ... because breathing is impeded AND you can easily swallow/spit it. With the straitjacket you have to simply adjust to a different kind of balance which stays fixed.

Bostonians are very friendly. We're just very introverted.
@dimitrisloterek60432 жыл бұрын
Was Boston not rated to be the most racist big city in the US?
@thepeanutgallery16992 жыл бұрын
@@dimitrisloterek6043 No idea. My take (having lived in NJ and upstate rural NY and spent a lot of time in Wash. DC area for work) is in Boston there's very much a case of "we like minorities, we just don't know any" here. Racism is a very subjective thing. For example, making a joke about how unpronounceable Welsh words is would be considered "racist" to the Welsh, because their language is how they self-identify, not because we were trying to insult/do harm to them. It's more ignorance of a culture. So if that's your criteria, Boston is pretty ignorant of a lot of minority cultures because we don't have any, not because we're xenophobic or hateful. But when people usually talk about New England being "unfriendly" or "cold," it's because we see minding your own business as polite, not dropping in on your neighbor with pies and inviting yourself in to chat for 3 hours about the shitty weather.
@dimitrisloterek60432 жыл бұрын
@@thepeanutgallery1699 I like Boston, too, I just wanted to inform you that minorities, at least up to some polls, don't do that, so the picture is more complex and while boston is still great it could rethink certain subject to become this friendly city it wants to be ;)
@thepeanutgallery16992 жыл бұрын
@@dimitrisloterek6043 I imagine like all places, there are pockets of extremes. But at the same time, I feel like Boston doesn't necessarily want to "become friendly" based on other people's criteria of friendliness, ironically because they don't understand our culture of "mind your own business," lol. My partner however, further points out that we only live in the Metro area and not Boston proper. I think racism is also something people in the majority don't generally think of unless they experience it to some degree. As a white American, really the only way to truly feel "racism" is to visit other countries and get your head out of your own ass and realize other people are judging you simply for being American before you've even said anything. It's like you have a stink about you that you can't wash off. Likewise (regarding the Boston version of friendliness vs. the south, for example) most people in other countries see Americans as patronizing and trying to appropriate the world, whereas we might see it as simply trying to be inclusive. (Again, ironically the opposite of exclusivity). When I was in Sweden and Norway (high immigration culture) it was interesting to see the push and pull of immigrant cultures trying to maintain their own identity while the Scandinavians attempted to be inclusive of them. The issue is as long as groups or sects of people are labeled as "us" and "them," and hierarchically ranking cities or cultures based on outside perception, there will always be some form of racism or another.
